According to the leaker, the upcoming open-world Resident Evil 9 will soon be officially announced and is currently set for a release in January 2025. Apparently, the leaker talked about it on his Discord and was later asked about it on X. So what is the setting of Resident Evil 9 then? According to the leaker, Resident Evil 9 will be set on a Singapore-inspired Island in a fictional rural town in the Southeast Asia sea. "A fictional rural town on an island in the Southeast Asia Sea inspired by Singapore specifically", Dusk Golem posted on X. He later added, "Yeee, I see someone caught me saying that on Discord before I deleted it, it is what it is, so I don't mind clarifying a bit. To let it play out how it does."
