A newly released report allegedly reveals that a focus on Call of Duty was the real reason why a pitch for a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater3+4 remake collection from Vicarious Visions was denied by Activision. This unfortunate update on the long-rumored compilation is likely to disappoint longtime Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans, who haven't exactly been getting the best treatment over the last decade or so.
After the release of the critically-lauded Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 compilation in 2020, the future of the beloved skateboarding game series was finally looking bright again. Following years of mistreatment by Activision, the series' sudden return with such a quality game was a very pleasant surprise for many fans. The momentum came to a halt, however, when THPS 1+2 developer Vicarious Visions was officially folded into Blizzard in 2022. Fans have been hoping for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 to get the same treatment that the first two installments in the series did, but with Activision showing no sign of revisiting Tony Hawk anytime soon, the potential remake compilations have been left in the dust. A recent update regarding this situation might give fans an explanation as to why Activision seemingly ditched the collection, but it's not one they'll be happy with.
In a video from DidYouKnowGaming's Liam Robertson, the video game historian claims that sources from Vicarious Visions told him that a pitch for a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake collection was rejected by Activision in favor of more Call of Duty support work. Robertson elaborated on this, stating that the proposed remakes of the third and fourth installments in the Tony Hawk franchise were intended to be bundled alongside 1+2 from the very beginning. Unfortunately, though, the developers behind the compilation ran out of time, resulting in them settling on adding «some handling features from the later games» to the 1+2 remakes, instead of rebuilding 3 and 4 from scratch as well.
Despite the commercial success of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, Vicarious Visions was unable to work on the proposed THPS 3+4 remakes, with Activision instead shifting the developer's efforts to Call of Duty and the then-upcoming Diablo 2: Resurrected. In 2022, Tony Hawk himself corroborated some of these claims, expressing that there were indeed plans at one point to remake THPS 3 and 4. According to him, though, after Vicarious got absorbed into Blizzard, Activision «tried to find somebody to do 3 and 4, but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious,» thus resulting in the proposed remakes being canceled. This, of course, led to a lot of fans being unhappy at Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4's alleged cancellation at the time.

The 13-inch M4 iPad Pro measures just 5.1mm in thickness and is marketed as Apple’s thinnest product yet. However, the obvious concern that potential buyers would have is how durable it would be over long-term use, and while Apple’s executives have attempted to put people’s worries to rest by stating that a protective cowling provides structural rigidity to the latest tablet, a new bend test reveals a different story. However, what is interesting to note is that the larger iPad Pro breaks from the charging position, not from the center, as Apple added the ‘central spine’ there to increase the slate’s durability.

In a recent interview, Fallout director Todd Howard said that Bethesda plans to «predominately keep» the franchise in the United States and explained his reasoning. Although Howard left the door open for non-US Fallout settings in the future, it seems unlikely given the franchise's established theme.
For years Fallout fans have wondered if a video game in the franchise will ever leave the United States for another country. According to Fallout lore, the nuclear war of 2077 upon which the franchise is based was not localized to the U.S., but a global event. And so, the idea of traipsing astound post-apocalyptic London or even Canada has long-been mooted by fans.
