There is one specific game spin-off that would be perfect for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 and its leaked specifications. Currently, the majority of the rumors are about an eventual Generation 5 remake, which would see and ’s Unova region remade for the current console generation. Other than the numerical logic of remaking Gen 5 games after the release of the Gen 4 remakes, namely, there are also several other hints at the rumored games within the Gen 9 titles.
The Blueberry Academy of the DLC for, for instance, is confirmed to be located in the Unova region and several of its students are related to key characters from the area, such as important Gym Leaders. The past and future theme is also recurrent in Gen 9 and Gen 5, which sparks even more speculation. Though not officially announced, Gen 5 remakes are almost considered a certainty, but one specific spin-off could be a perfect remake for the highly-rumored Nintendo Switch 2 console, should it be announced soon.
A spin-off title in the franchise that should be remade for the rumored new console should be. This series, composed of three Nintendo DS games, has players control a Ranger, whose mission is to preserve the locations they patrol. Rangers subdue menacing Pokémon with a device called a capture styler, which is essentially a special spinning top. Though the Nintendo DS games used the console’s touch screen and the special stylus, this gameplay feature could be translated to the Nintendo Switch and, given the rumors about the new console, it even makes sense.
The Nintendo Switch console has a touch screen, which could be used in case the rumored second version of hardware comes with a stylus of sorts, in an attempt to recreate the popular Nintendo DS. The latest Nintendo Switch 2 rumors indicate that the alleged console will have an 8-inch LCD screen, which is significantly larger than the 6.2-inch panel of the standard Switch and even the 7-inch display of the Switch OLED model. Such a screen, if it continues to be touch-sensitive, would be perfect for receiving remakes or, perhaps, even a sequel in the series.
The titles were not met with critical acclaim – the original game’s critic score on Metacritic, for instance, is 69 out of 100, while the user score is 6.7 out of 10. However, they were innovative and brilliantly utilized the Nintendo DS’ capabilities. The spin-off series could get a second chance with a remake or a sequel for the current or next generation of consoles by Nintendo. A new could even serve as a launch title for the rumored Switch 2. The original games weren’t developed by Game Freak, and this could be the case with the remake.
