Redfall was one of the big exclusives that Microsoft was pushing this year. It was a game to hopefully tie players over until their next major release, Starfield. However, critics and fans alike tore it to pieces when the game launched. There wasn’t enough substance to persuade players to continue logging in. Also, more than a few bugs made the game unappealing for those considering the game purchase or download from Xbox Game Pass. However, Arkane was not giving up on this title, and most recently, we saw a new update land on the game.
This new update was something that the developers were hopeful in bringing players back into the title. It offered a wide range of fixes and tweaks to turn the game around potentially. One of the fixes that players were hopeful to see added in was a 60 FPS performance mode on Xbox consoles. Just before the update, we had seen a report that Redfall was really struggling to stay on the player’s radar. In fact, there were points when there were fewer than four active players on Steam, which made it impossible even to fill an entire party for an online multiplayer session.
With the latest patch update, it was a wonder if there would be enough players out there to swarm back into Redfall once again this past weekend. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case. It was recently reported by Tech4Gamers that there was just a small bump in players, which totaled around nineteen. That doesn’t give you too much confidence that support and interest will be sticking around for another update for Redfall. But we’ll just have to wait and see if this game sticks around much longer. After all, Bethesda’s Pete Hines said that Redfall would eventually be good.
Meanwhile, we’ve heard plenty of reports on the team making Redfall. For instance, there was a report in the past that Arkane was hopeful that Microsoft would cancel the project after being acquired. At any rate, we know that this one failed project won’t be enough to put Arkane down. It’s already been confirmed that the development studio won’t be closing down. So we’ll just have to wait and see what the next game will be from this team. Odds are, we’re likely going to see a focus back on single-player video games in the future from this team.

In a year with Microsoft launching Forza Motorsport, Hi-Fi Rush andStarfield, it’s crazy that Redfall also exists. Released in May 2023 to an overwhelmingly negative response, its player base is almost non-existent, even with the recent Title Update, which adds the long-awaited 60 FPS Performance Mode.

The release date for the slimmer and lighter mid-gen refresh of the PS5 has seemingly leaked online, alongside details about its first bundle. As per reliable tipster Billbil-kun — notorious for accurately leaking monthly PS Plus games ahead of time — the new PlayStation consoles with smaller form factor will go on sale November 10 in the US before spreading out to other regions; both disc and digital versions. A bit before that, on November 8, Sony would be bundling it with the newly launched Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at $559.99, which is the same amount as the existing standard edition bundle. While not explicitly mentioned, the content should be the same, with a digital voucher for the game, alongside a themed controller.

Now between changes, new content, a free Steam weekend, and a sale, Battlefield 2042 is the most popular it’s been since launch.
