Niantic and Capcom have today jointly revealed Monster Hunter Now, a mobile spin-off similar in style to Pokémon GO, will launch on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store on 14th September 2023. Pre-registration across both platforms is available now, and the more players who do so, the better the rewards will be at launch. FromSoftware's eagerly-anticipated mech action game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is out this time next month, but prospective pilots won't need to wait that long to get their next gameplay briefing. The cagey developer is teasing some fresh gameplay, and it's expected in the hours to come.

Blasphemous 2 continues the series' trademark blend of tough-as-nails 2D gameplay and unsettling Catholicism-inspired enemy design. Preorders are now live, with the game launching on PS5 next month, on 24th August, and we got a suitably gory gameplay snippet to tide us over in the meantime.

PlayStation boss Jim Ryan has announced more than 40 million PS5 consoles have now been sold since its release in November 2020. With any PS5 Stock issues now completely rectified, Ryan said: «With the support of PlayStation fans, we have reached a milestone of 40 million PS5 consoles sold through to gamers since launch. Suggestions a Red Dead Redemption remake or remaster is in the works from Rockstar are doing the rounds again as Internet sleuths have uncovered a new logo for the PS3 title recently uploaded to the developer's website. First spotted by Twitter user Tez2, a site update from earlier today included a new reference within the games list as well as the new logo you see below.

In perhaps the most on-brand leak of the modern era, the logo for this year's Call of Duty game has made its way online on the back of a cardboard box containing Monster Energy drinks. Activision's FPS franchise has had a long-standing partnership with the energy drink, offering the likes of double XP if you buy a can, and now a Modern Warfare 3 logo has been spotted on them.

After a PS4 version of High on Life was spotted on the backend of the PS Store, the comedic game has now essentially been confirmed for PS5 and PS4 as Exophase has pulled Trophy lists for both versions. They are available to view now, with Platinum Trophies for both PS5 and PS4 editions.

With titles like Assassin's Creed Mirage, Alan Wake 2, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releasing around the same time, PS5 game Lords of the Fallen may not be something you pick up on day one. Sony has today announced the retro-inspired PS5, PS4 RPG Sea of Stars will launch straight into PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium on its release date of 29th August 2023. It will be part of the August 2023 service refresh, arriving at the end of the month, and you can get a taste of it right now with a demo available on the PS Store. Dying Light 2 developer Techland has announced Chinese firm Tencent is setting itself up to become the studio's main shareholder, effectively acquiring the Polish team. Confirmed by founder Pawel Marchewka in a website post, he says the buyout allows Techland «to move full speed ahead with the execution of the vision for our games», which includes more from the Dying Light series and an unannounced open world action RPG.

Sony is plotting a press conference in China this week, which it promises will reveal the third phase of its ongoing China Hero Project. The Japanese giant has been nurturing developers all across the country, pledging funding, marketing, and publishing support for a variety of games, including FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch and more.

PAYDAY 3 is slated to score its biggest haul yet, with the high-stakes cooperative heist game coming to PS5 on 24th September. PlayStation players hoping to get in a job or two during the upcoming closed beta session (2nd-7th August) will have to look elsewhere, however, as publisher Deep Silver and developer Starbreeze have announced that only PC and Xbox platforms would be eligible.
