We're getting closer and closer to gaming's annual announcement season. Every summer sees the industry turn out for a few weeks of pre-recorded presentations and live broadcasts, all showcasing what's coming up in the near future. With E3 now sadly a thing of the past, the biggest of these events is now Summer Game Fest, created and hosted by Geoff Keighley. Whatever games you enjoy, it sounds like this will be worth watching — a lot of game developers and publishers are taking part.

What new PS5 and PS4 games are releasing in physical retailers and as part of the PS Store update this week? It's a really slow week where you may need to dig into your backlog. When it was announced Dave the Diver would finally come to PS5 and PS4, developer Mintrocket also unveiled a crossover DLC, bringing Godzilla to the game. Now, we have a release date for the add-on, as well as a few more details on what to expect.

DAVE THE DIVER downloadable content “Godzilla” will launch for free on May 23, developer MINTROCKET announced. It is a time-limited release that will only be available until November 23.

What a week it has been, with the sun finally showing its face again after a chilly April for the UK. Well, that wish has come true, but you won't find it on any PlayStation hardware. Batman: Arkham Shadow is a VR title exclusive to Meta Quest 3, releasing at the end of 2024. Circana’s March 2024 data on video game spending in the United States is available, with Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Helldivers 2 scoring big. In the midst of all this is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the long-awaited second part in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, which is the fourth best-selling title in the US year to date.

Eight games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on May 15, including Norco, one of the service's highest-rated titles. It's always sad whenever games are removed from the Xbox Game Pass lineup, but the good news is new games are added on a regular basis as well. In fact, Microsoft just recently pulled the curtain back on four games that will be coming to Xbox Game Pass as part of the May 2024 lineup.
