A PlayStation 5 version of The Last of Us Part 2 has seemingly been added to the PlayStation database.
Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, which has a history of scraping the backend of the PlayStation Network to find out what has been added to it, has suggested that a PS5 version of the 2020 PS4 game has been added, suggesting a release could be imminent.
Despite releasing only months before the launch of the PlayStation 5, The Last of Us Part 2 never received a native PS5 version or a director’s cut re-release like Sucker Punch‘s Ghost of Tsushima.

The first game in the series, 2013’s The Last of Us, received a remake in the form of The Last of Us Part 1 last year. This saw the original game refreshed with PS5-quality models, similar to those used in the flashback sequences of The Last of Us Part 2.
In October, an advert on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation Plus showed off artwork for The Last of Us Part 2, despite the game not being available on any tier of the subscription service.
Also in October, The Last of Us 2: Remastered was spotted on the LinkedIn profile of a Naughty Dog developer, although mention of the game has since been erased from their online résumé.
In July, The Last of Us Part 2 composer Gustavo Santaolalla seemingly let slip that an “enhanced version” of the game was in development at Naughty Dog.
Several reports published last year also claimed Naughty Dog was working on a director’s cut of The Last of Us Part 2, and VGC sources previously suggested that the unannounced game was nearing completion too.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is set to grace PlayStation 5 consoles next month, and fans can also look forward to experiencing three ‘lost levels’ — playable sequences cut from the original game. In June last year, it was confirmed that Naughty Dog president Neil Druckmann’s next directorial single player project had entered development, and there’s been plenty of speculation since then about whether that game is going to be a third Last of Us entry. A story outline for a sequel has apparently been ready for a while, and leaks have also claimed that The Last of Us Part 3 is indeed in development– though an actor who has played a major role in both previous titles doesn’t seem to have started working on the game.

The saga of Ark: Survival Ascended’s console release date has taken another twist, with developer Studio Wildcard committing to a release date for the Xbox version, but delaying the PlayStation 5 version.
After multiple delays, Ark: Survival Ascended is finally launching on Xbox Series X/S today at 9 AM PST (barring any last-minute change). However, even if you download it quickly, the new official servers won’t be live until several hours later to afford everyone time and an even playing field when starting.
