Sony adds new games to PS Plus Extra and Premium on the third Tuesday every month, meaning fans are now able to claim a handful of games scattered across the service. Namely, this means PS Plus Extra subscribers can now claim 9 new games, while PS Plus Premium subscribers can claim all of that and then 4 more on top of that, including the classic PSP game Resistance: Retribution.
Ever since the introduction of PS Plus Extra and Premium, there has effectively been a monthly cycle fans can expect. On the last Wednesday of every month, Sony announces the free games coming to the PS Plus Essential Tier for the next month and adds them on the very first Tuesday. Sony then announces the PS Plus Extra and Premium games on the Wednesday of the next week, dropping them on the third Tuesday of the month. Rinse and repeat. This means fans can expect Sony to announce the PS Plus free games for March 2024 on February 28 before their addition on March 5.
Of course, that's looking ahead and there's the then and now to consider. PS Plus Extra subscribers can claim Assassin's Creed Valhalla, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Worlds, Need for Speed Unbound, Roguebook, Rogue Lords, Tales of Arise, Tales of Zestiria, and The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. PS Plus Extra subscribers can also claim Jet Moto 2, Resistance: Retribution, Tales of Symphonia Remastered, and Tales of Vesperia in addition to the PS Plus Extra games.

Interestingly, subscribers of the highest tier can claim a total of 4 'Tales of' games, with 2 appearing on each tier. Tales of Arise is the latest entry in the franchise, one that launched to high reviews and a lot of love from fans for its storytelling, characters, gameplay, and more. Each game gives fans a new story and cast of characters to play, given the franchise is anthological in nature, which means fans of the franchise are eating well in terms of quality and variety.
Notably, though, there are a lot of RPGs among the PS Plus Extra and Premium games. A total of 7 out of the 13 games are RPGs, making up a little more than half the entire selection. The rest are varied, and given the versatility of the RPG genre, there's pretty much something here for everyone. If not, fans don't have a long wait to find out what's coming in March.
