Princess Peach: Showtime! is here, giving the Mushroom Kingdom monarch a chance to break out of the damsel role and do a little world-saving of her own. While the game is largely pitched to younger audiences, there are still a few things about the game that might inspire questions, and we’re here to help!
While most of Princess Peach: Showtime! keeps it pretty straightforward, the game’s Detective Peach stages take the form of old-school adventure game mysteries. These sections may puzzle younger players, and perhaps even their parents called in when they get confused, so we’re here to help. Here’s how to get through the second Detective Peach stage, “The Dark Museum & The Purple Mystery”…

At first, you’ll need to accuse this guy with the top-hat in order to get through this doorway, as he’s really a Sour Bunch Gang member. In fact, all the NPCs in this area are Sour Bunch Gang members, although you don’t have to identify all of them to proceed.
In order to open the door forward, you’ll have to identify four museum artifacts in order. You’ll know the order by how many dots are underneath them. The first one is this “Ancient Sparkle Relief” (press B while in front of an item then hold B again for a “Strike of Intuition” that identifies it as a key point of interest, but choose wisely – point fingers recklessly and you’ll lose life).
Next, single out the Pink Crystal.
Next, move to the rightmost room in this area, and interact with these Easter-Island-style heads until they all point the same way and their noses light up. This will reveal another head. Interact with it.
Now return to the center room and interact with this vase. The door will open and you can continue on.
In this next area, you’ll have to identify the Detective Sparkla. He’s the third from the left.
You’ll now find yourself in a room with a number of items in it and no way forward. Go through the door to the left, and you’ll find yourself in a largely identical room. Hmmm! Go back to the first room on the right and look for something that isn’t in the mirror room – the magnifying glass! Interact with it, and the path forward will open.
One last challenge before you're done – you’ll come upon your pal the Junior Detective… or is it? The Detective Sparkla will ask him a few questions, and it becomes fairly obvious something is off. Accuse him, and you’ll discover he was actually a Sour Bunch Gang member, and the final path forward opens.
And that’s it! The final Detective Peach case, finished! ! You can check out our walkthrough of Detective Peach’s first case, “The Case of the Missing Mural,” and her second case, “The Case of the Rainy-Day Plot.”

The Fallout Amazon TV series debuted last night, and to follow up on the hype, Bethesda will be releasing a long-awaited next/current-gen update for Fallout 4. On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, that means players will now have access to a both a Quality mode and a 60fps Performance mode. What resolution we can expect hasn’t been specified – guess we’ll have to wait for Digital Foundry to weigh in on that. Bethesda is also promising “stability improvements, login and quest fixes” on console.
Like previous entries in the series, Mortal Kombat 1 is rolling out plenty of DLC fighters, with the game’s first “Kombat Pack” so far serving up Omni-Man from Invincible, Quan Chi, and Peacemaker from Suicide Squad. It’s been a rather cameo-heavy list so far, but we’re getting back to a fan-favorite from the actual Mortal Kombat universe next – Ermac.
As we head deeper into 2024, the traditional “E3” season (of course, E3 is dead now, but you catch my drift) for gaming announcements and showcases is coming up fast. In recent days we’ve begun to hear some murmurings about Microsoft’s big 2024 showcase, with Gears 6 reportedly being there, and now a few more potential details may have filtered out.
Last week’s Japanese sales charts saw Princess Peach: Showtime! beating out competition from the likes of Rise of the Ronin and Dragon’s Dogma 2 to take the top spot in the software charts, and this week, the action-adventure game has managed to hold on to that position, as per the latest weekly data revealed by Famitsu. Selling over 27,000 units, it holds a decent lead over Rise of the Ronin, which climbed up to the No. 2 position with an additional 20,000 units sold.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Episode 1 – Fear is out now, and one of the key pieces of new content included is a new playable version of the Joker. That said, if you’re expecting to jump right in and play as the Clown Prince of Crime, you’re in for a rude awakening – he has to be unlocked, either by playing the game or by spending premium currency. We’re going to assume for now that you’d rather not spend real money to get your hands on Joker, so scroll on down for the in-game method for unlocking him…
Alongside Peach's new ensembles in there are also several cosmetic dresses for Peach to unlock and wear throughout the game. To unlock every single dress, players will need to, not only fully complete the game, but also complete some lengthy post-game tasks.
Recently-released data indicates that Princess Peach: Showtime sales are outpacing the PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin in Japan. Princess Peach: Showtime released on March 22, an extremely busy day for the gaming industry. While it's rare for major new game releases to land on the same day, Princess Peach: Showtime shared its launch date with PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin and Capcom's open world action-RPG Dragon's Dogma 2.
Rise of the Ronin is the latest joint from Team Ninja, and unlike some of their past efforts, the game is surprisingly story-heavy. There are also a number of moments when you’ll be presented with important decisions to make, which begs the question – are their multiple endings? And how does one unlock them all? Scroll on down for the full lowdown on how RotR's story works…

Each stage in will contain several Sparkle Gems, key collectibles that are required to challenge the game's many bosses. These Gems are often hidden in sneaky ways, which is especially true for the Ninja Peach levels. Collecting every Ninja Sparkle Gem will require sneak-attacking guards, prowling over rooftops, and collecting Gem Fragments during high-speed wall-running sequences.
