Pokemon Sleep has officially unveiled the upcoming Entei Research Event, with the occasion kicking off on May 20. This limited Pokemon Sleep event will give players a chance to encounter the rare Gen 2 Legendary and add them to their sleepy team of Pokemon.
Pokemon Sleep's purpose is to help players improve their sleep quality and ensure that they get regular, healthy sleep. To encourage this, players meet a Snorlax who is drawing in Pokemon from the surrounding area who doze in its presence. Pokemon fans can feed the Snorlax to encounter rarer Pokemon, and those that they befriend can join the player's team to help feed Snorlax special recipes and repeat the process. There are quite a number of Pokemon already available in Pokemon Sleep, but special events add unique Pokemon or increase the rate of discovering those already in the title.
Pokemon Sleep's Entei Research Event will run from May 20 at 4 am through June 3 at 3:59 am. Players will be tasked with collecting Entei Mane samples, which can be traded in for Entei Incense, Entei Biscuits, and some valuable items like Main Skill Seeds and Fire evolutionary Stones. Entei will only appear on Greengrass Isle during this event, and will continue appearing after the event ends, but as a rare encounter.
Players should plan on prepping their best Fire-type Pokemon for the event, as they will receive unique bonuses. During the entire event, Fire-types will bring players an extra ingredient, and their main skill will have a 1.5x chance of triggering. Snorlax will also enjoy fire-type Leppa Berries, so players should choose Pokemon who have a chance of finding that berry. During the first week of the event, Fire-type Pokemon will have their Main Skill boosted by 1 level, and during the second week that will rise to 3 levels. Fire-types will also increase the drop rate of Entei Mane samples, which can be collected during a player's first sleep recording of the night.
Players who don't have a good team of Fire-types will also have an opportunity to change that. Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Vulpix, Ninetales, Growlithe, Flareon, Cyndaquil, Quilava, and Typhlosion will have an increased chance of appearing after sleeping for the night.
Once the Entei Research event ends, Entei Biscuits will be converted to Great Biscuits and Entei Incense will be retained and can be used whenever a player likes, but Entei Mane samples will be lost if not exchanged in time. Players will be able to turn in Entei Mane samples until June 6 at 3:59 am.
