A Pokemon fan has recently designed a past Paradox form for Sableye, a Dark/Ghost-type creature that first appeared in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Sableye may not be among the most popular creatures in the franchise, but it has a very memorable design and is a pretty good fit for Pokemon fan art.
Paradox Pokemon are the main antagonists of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These unique creatures are special versions of otherwise usual Pokemon that either came from the ancient past in Pokemon Scarlet or from the far future in Violet. Soon after their debuts in these games, these Pokemon became widely popular, and fans have been experimenting with this concept in fan art since then.
Now, a talented Pokemon fan called Poetically_Imperfect decided to share their unique take on a past Paradox form for Sableye with the game’s community. Called Glittering Grin, this new version is a Dark/Fairy-type. The design greatly resembles the original Sableye, as it’s still purple and the body has the same overall shape. However, the creature has eyes of two different colors, red and green, a huge mouth filled with pointy teeth, and its body looks like a rock formation. This past Paradox version of Sableye also gained a shiny version, which is yellow instead of purple and has pink and blue eyes.
This was not the first time a Pokemon fan designed a past Paradox form for Sableye. Last year, a fan redesigned the Gen 3 Pokemon into Tricky Gems, a creature made out of crystals that greatly resembled an ankylosaurus.
Another good example of Sableye fan art appeared when a fan redesigned the Pokemon as a Legendary. This alternative version was named Sableye King, and it looked like a bigger, older version of the original creature, which was drawn sitting on a throne made out of gold coins and crystals.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may have been released over a year ago, but Paradox forms continue to be popular, and there are other examples of that besides the fan art made by Poetically_Imperfect. For instance, a fan recently created a past Paradox form for Gyarados. In this amazing design, the red version of Gyarados was turned into a dinosaur, showcasing its ferocity with long claws and spikes in its body. It’s likely that fans will keep coming up with new Paradox versions of famous creatures, and hopefully sharing them with the community.
