PlayStation 2 Has Sold 160 Million Units Worldwide

Unless a game is breaking records, it's quite rare that we get direct sales data from publishers — and Square Enix in particular is somewhat notorious for this. As such, interested parties usually have little choice but to try and determine commercial success through other means.

It seems Toys for Bob's warmly received Crash Bandicoot sequel has been a huge success. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, the first numbered sequel in the series since 1998's Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, has sold over five million copies, according to the studio's design director, Toby Schadt.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is one of the best 3D platformers in recent memory, but there’s been strangely little information out there on how the game has performed from a commercial perspective. Activision hasn’t ever provided any sales figures for the title- though one developer’s LinkedIn profile may have revealed new details on that front.

Allowing you to play as a shark and wreak all sorts of havoc in an open world setting, Maneater has praised for being big, dumb, gleeful fun by most who played it, and that reception has translated to impressive sales for the action RPG.

The console was first released back in Japan on March 4, 2000. Then it was soon released in America on October 26, 2000. This console was the sequel to the PlayStation console which was the very first one.

Developer Stunlock Studios has announced a new milestone for its vampire-themed survival crafting title V Rising. Leading up to the game’s exit from early access on May 8, V Rising has sold 4 million copies since its early access release.

Sony president Hiroki Totoki will today step into his new role as PlayStation CEO following Jim Ryan's retirement after a more than 30-year tenure at the company. While retaining his duties across the wider business, Totoki's main objective will be to aid the search for a true successor to Jim Ryan while defining «the next chapter of PlayStation's future».

According to developer and publisher Capcom, the recent open-world role-playing game (RPG) Dragon’s Dogma 2 has managed to surpass 2.5 million units sold worldwide since its March 22 launch.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s post-launch addition of microtransactions vexed a fair few people, but in spite of backlash from the community, the open world action RPG has got off to an impressive start. In addition to widespread acclaim, it has also seen sales in impressive numbers right out the gate.
