Activision Blizzard‘s games could return to the Chinese market soon, it’s been claimed.

Activision Blizzard and Netease began a partnership in 2008 which saw Netease publish Blizzard‘s games in China. At the time, this was largely focused on bringing World of Warcraft to the Chinese market, but in the following years, it published Overwatch, Hearthstone, Starcraft, and Diablo.
The deal ended in late 2022 and saw the region lose access to Blizzard’s games in 2023. Blizzard’s largest 2023 title, Diablo 4, has yet to be published in the region.

When are we finally going to get a release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake? The game is widely expected to launch sometime in 2024, but PR from Konami has been spotty at best. We got a somewhat-questionable trailer back in February (that even developer Bloober Team criticized as not representative of the final game) and as we head deeper into the year, there’s still a lot to be nailed down. The game’s been rated by the ESRB and there are rumors it may pop up at a PlayStation Showcase next month, but Konami themselves have remained silent.
After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have made the decision not to hold BlizzCon in 2024. This decision was not made lightly as BlizzCon remains a very special event for all of us, and we know many of you look forward to it. While we’re approaching this year differently and as we have explored different event formats in the past, rest assured that we are just as excited as ever to bring BlizzCon back in future years.
