Path of Exile 2’s recent gameplay showcase looks snazzy, but Path of Exile’s next expansion, Affliction, is shaping up quite well. It goes live on December 8th for PC and sees players venturing into the Viridian Wildwood, using Sacred Wisps to burn away the Affliction.
Different kinds of Wisps lead to shrines, bosses, encounters and new characters. These include three Azmeri Wanderers who can bestow new Ascendancy classes alongside the current one. Warden of the Maji is about coating weapons with Tinctures for bonuses and utilizing Barkskin for more armor.
Warlock of the Mists allows for corpses that can either serve as Spectres or be consumed for more damage/protection against enemies of a similar type. Wildwood Primalist grants Charms with random Skills from other Ascendancies as modifiers (up to two). You also get an extra backpack and can use Warcries to get more items from corpses.
Wisps can also inhabit random enemies in Wraeclast to increase their rewards (though their difficulty also increases). There are also 15 new Unique items, Transfigured Gems and the return of Ultimatum. Head here for more details.
