With an elevator pitch like “Pokemon with guns”, Pocketpair’s monster-catching open world survival game Palworld was always bound to turn a few heads, though it turns out it’s been more successful than most would have guessed. The game launched in early access earlier this week, going on to hit 300,000 concurrent players on Steam promptly after release- and it’s only gained more momentum since then.
As per SteamDB, at the time of writing, more than 532,000 players are playing Palworld concurrently. In the all-time charts for concurrent user count, meanwhile, it has instantly shot up to No. 12, which puts it above heavyweights such as Call of Duty, Valheim, Grand Theft Auto 5, Destiny 2, Monster Hunter World, Among Us, and others.
Pocketpair recently also announced that Palworld had already sold over a million copies, within just eight hours of its release.
In our review of the game’s early access version, we gave it a score of 7/10, saying, “Palworld is equal parts charming and dark, with a massive world and no restrictions on exploration. Combat needs some fine-tuning and the survival crafting may not be for everyone, but it’s early access release is a solid starting point.” Read the full review through here.

The newest game from developer Pocket Pair would sell over 7 million copies on Steam within just five days of its launch, also releasing Day 1 on Xbox Game Pass. Now, the game has once again exceeded one of its own records.
