Though it's more than possible to butcher your Pals in via the Meat Cleaver, cooking in the game is done through a set of different menu screens, and other than the actual act of butchering, it seems fairly innocuous.

The success of Palworld has naturally led to comparisons between the game and Pokémon, with the internet now debating whether any legal ramifications could happen due to their similarities.

Pocketpair’s Palworld continues with its hot streak, selling over seven million copies since launching into early access on January 19th. This is roughly a day after crossing six million units sold. For comparison’s sake, Pokemon Legends: Arceus sold 6.5 million copies in its first week on the Nintendo Switch.

Pocket Pair’s Palworld is getting a Pokemon mod that introduces various characters from the popular Nintendo franchise into the game. Since the release of the first Palworld trailer back in 2021, the game has turned heads for having elements that bear a striking resemblance to Pokemon, from some of the Pals such as Lamball and Direhowl to even the device used to capture these creatures, Pal Spheres. These similarities have led gamers online to refer to the game as “Pokemon with guns.”

Palworld first captured the attention of gamers (and their internet sphere) when it was revealed back in 2021. While that reveal included details about the survival aspects of the game, including multiplayer, crafting, and farming, viewers honed in on the idea of it being Pokémon but with guns. You can capture Pokémon-like monsters called Pals in special balls (and you can capture humans, too), but it's smart to shoot them or hack at them with an axe first to lower their health. And then, once under your command, you can give them their own guns to use, of course. 

Before launch, Palworld was hyped up as "Pokemon with guns" - and now someone has turned it into exactly that. In a video being shared around social media, a Palworld player has modded Pokemon models into the game, replacing the Pals entirely.
