Overwatch 2 Will Buff Damage And Tank Heroes With Passive Healing In Season 9

Among the ideas fans have come up with for new Overwatch 2 heroes, one fan’s concept for a botany-themed support character really takes the cake for the way this hypothetical hero would shake up the game’s meta. While plenty of fans have tried their hand at imagining new additions to the roster, this one in particular goes the extra mile with a unique moveset so detailed and realized one could easily imagine them being added to Overwatch 2 for real in the near future.

A recent Fortnite leak has revealed that four vaulted items will be brought back to the game in Chapter 5 Season 1. Following the conclusion of Chapter 4, Fortnite has made some changes to the item pool, sending the likes of Drum Shotgun, Grapple Glove, and Infantry Rifle to the vault for an unspecified time. However, the battle royale has replaced them with some powerful equipment, such as Grapple Blade and Frenzy Auto Shotgun.

The developers of Overwatch 2 received heavy backlash after revealing there were new healing changes coming to the FPS without providing much context. They now want to let the fans know this was a mistake, and explain themselves just a bit better in the interim. 

Another day, another blowup over Overwatch 2 changes. In a recent blog discussing balance changes coming in Overwatch 2 Season 9, Blizzard revealed that all heroes will soon be given passive healing abilities. That certainly raised a lot of eyebrows, considering Overwatch already has an entire class of characters – the Support heroes – dedicated to healing. Blizzard claims the change is designed to reduce “damage spikes” during combat, although some may argue the cost of achieving that is too great.

Last week, Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller caused controversy among players by revealing major gameply changes that'll see tank and damage heroes receive a «modified, tuned-down version of the Support self-healing passive» in Season 9 — and Keller has now admitted it was a «mistake» to make the announcement «out of context».
