Myth of Empires will be officially relaunched on February 21st. Developer Angela Game and Imperium Interactive Entertainment announced the multiplayer strategic sandbox’ launch date, along with a new trailer, and a Steam playtest later this month.
The game is set in a world affected by war, and decisions are going to be in players’ hands. The team emphasizes that there's a lot of freedom. You'll have to make decisions, fight to survive, hunt to eat, create shelters, construct fortresses, and maybe even siege and conquer to eventually lead an empire of your own.
Myth of Empires' world is full of wildlife, resources to collect and take advantage of, but also bandits and hostile players (if you decide to play on PVP servers), and other dangers. Learn how to craft weapons, armor, and to build secure fortresses to survive those potential sieges. In addition to weaponry and armor to gear up, create siege weapons like catapults, trebuchets, and ballistas.
These survival sandbox elements will let you progress in the world, and decide what kind of strategy you prefer. Will you be leading an army into battle and launching sieges against enemy cities, or will you be playing with others, forming societies and strengthening each other's defenses?
There will beboth PVE and PVP servers, with options for guild/faction creation, alliances, and conquest. A variety of server options, both official and private, hosted, solo, and more modes will be available. The team also plans a suite of modding tools.
The game will launch with two maps: Zhongzhou and the new Dongzhou Island map. The latter, new to 1.0, introduces the sea and ships, new boss content, and even volcanoes and islets. You'll be able to travel the world by land, sea, and even air, by taming animals like elephants, building ships, or floating around with gliders.
There will be a limited Steam play test from January 23rd through January 30th, featuring both maps. You can find out more and sign up here.

As Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s launch approaches, Square Enix is continuing to ratchet up the hype and anticipation surrounding it, and the publisher has done that through a steady stream of new details, updates, gameplay footage, and more. Recently at Tapei Game Show, plenty more of that also got shown off.

Graham has been bandying Abiotic Factor around the Treehouse as "Half-Life designed for co-op survival japes", which is obviously a noteworthy combination of words, so let's have a look at the Steam page, trailer, and gosh, there's a demo here too. That's Friday night sorted.
After years of delays, reboots, and all manner of behind-the-scenes issues, Skull and Bones is finally less than a month away from launch, and ahead of its looming release, Ubisoft is going to allow everyone to test the waters before deciding if you want to fully dive in.
Now see here Ollie Toms, supposed guides editor of this supposed videogames website - if Enshrouded really does have "the best building system in the survival genre" then why does the floor of my hovel look like a petrified sneeze? I was innocently carving myself a nice stone foundation last night when the Devil jogged my elbow and I dug a massive, raggedy trench straight through it. I've spent an hour now trying to fill in the trench and flatten it out, to no avail. There's always a jaggedy bit right in the middle, and I'm getting displaced trypophobia from the awareness that my efforts have seeded the terrain beneath with random cavities.
One Palworld player has bred a "zooming dragon," and it might be the fastest creature in the game to date.

As much as I love looking at and admiring sandbox citybuilders like Townscaper, I am terrible at actually playing them. I get the same kind of blank canvas choice paralysis I do in games like Minecraft, or anything where there's no real clear objective for what I'm meant to be building. I sit there with a big toybox of lovely things to stick together, but always end up deflated and disappointed with my own lack of imagination. But Summerhouse, the sandbox citybuilder (or townbuilder, more like) from solo developer Friedemann is just teeny-tiny enough to give me a sense of creative satisfaction. I've been playing its gorgeous little demo this week in between Palworld sessions, and yes, more of this please, this is utterly delightful. Happily, we don't have to wait too long for the final game now either, as it's coming to Steam on March 8th.
