Survival titles are completely taking over as of late, with popular examples like and taking center stage — but another highly-rated survival title, , is officially making the jump to its full release this week. is a horror-survival title that sets people in the shoes of a crew looking to locate a missing billionaire in what the game aptly describes as a "." In Early Access on Steam since February of 2023, the game will finally make its full debut on PC later this week when 1.0 is released on February 22, 2024.
In fact, this will mark the game's one-year anniversary, as the game was originally released on February 23, 2023. Since the original launch of the Early Access title, the game has seen a series of improvements and additional content, with regular updates and hotfixes occurring on a nearly weekly basis since its launch. An exclusive trailer uploaded on the IGN YouTube channel showcases what people can come to expect from the 's 1.0 release.
Developers Endnight Games, creators of the highly popular game that came before it, , have launched 15 significant «full» patches over the last year, adding new enemy types, outfits, gameplay upgrades, vehicles, blueprints, and more since the game originally launched. The 1.0 launch will also include a sizeable update, with the inclusion of more than just new critters in the form of raccoons.
Though Endnight hasn't revealed many details about the release, there are some minor details that can be gained from the short trailer. For one, while the Hang Glider is nothing new, a new launcher is. In addition, new monsters and creatures will be added to the 1.0 release, some of which boast horrifying new models as well as shiny golden armor. Undoubtedly, people will have to figure out how to defeat the new cannibals to survive in the latest build. The trailer also features what looks to be a new cave, with -like trinkets hanging from the ceilings.
More significantly, however, the new cave also seems to feature some sort of light beam, a powerful force emanating either from the bottom of the cave or from the top of it, along with what looks like a new character that could be introduced in the 1.0 launch. It also appears that some of the end-game cutscenes and important conclusions in the story have actually changed, perhaps altering the entire narrative of. As is typically the case with Endnight, more will be revealed when the game finally debuts in its 1.0 state on February 22.
