One of Embracer's top executives resigns and announces his own gaming company at the same time

An ex-Rockstar Games employee has revealed new details of cancelled games at the studio, before being contacted by Rockstar and prompted to shut the entire thing down.

Andrzej Sapkowski's got a new Witcher book on the way, which means he's out and about being his usual scorchingly, wonderfully honest self on the interview circuit. Most recently, he's been at Vienna Comic Con, where he chatted with Austrian gaming website Cerealkillerz about writing (don't do it), videogames (he doesn't play them), and the Netflix Witcher TV series (they didn't listen to him).

After taking the book publishing world by storm with a record-shattering $41.75 million Kickstarter campaign, author Brandon Sanderson has now set his sights on the world of tabletop gaming. Together with partner Brotherwise Games (Boss Monster, The Dragon Prince: Battlecharged), the Utah-based author revealed the first details of an ambitious new tabletop role-playing game at his annual Dragonsteel Con held in Salt Lake City — plus a bonus slate of additional card games already in the works.

A brand new teaser for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has dropped, and it looks like this spin-off may hold the key to some of our unanswered questions from the original show’s last few seasons. The teaser also reveals that the show will officially premiere on AMC on February 25, 2024.

A raft of unannounced Gearbox games were spotted online over the weekend.

A Highland Song, Inkle's Scottish rhythm mountain climbing game, now has a release date of December 5th. I'm Scottish, I spent my childhood walking up mountains, and I'm a long-time fan of Inkle, so it's kind of them to make this game specifically for me. Hop below for a new trailer, too.

Another month, another batch of fresh games set to hit Xbox Game Pass. This time around, you can expect new games like Persona 5 Tactica and the console version of Dune: Spice Wars, as well as DLC and updates, and more. And, per usual, some games are leaving Xbox Game Pass this month. Let's break it all down below. 

Earlier this summer, developer Evening Star Studios and publisher Private Division revealed Penny's Big Breakaway during a Nintendo Direct. While the throwback 3D platforming adventure looked great in its own right, what caught a lot of people's attention was the team behind it. Evening Star's creative director and lead engine architect is Christian Whitehead, one of the lead developers behind 2017's Sonic Mania. Whitehead isn't alone, though, as various other Evening Star developers also worked on Sonic Mania. While we've still got some time before the game's release – it's due out sometime in 2024 – Game Informer has a special sneak peek at its music and can exclusively reveal three tracks from the game. 

Mortal Kombat 1’s aggressive monetisation has once again come under fire from players after Nintendo spilled the beans on the standalone price of the Omni-Man DLC character.

When Clockwork Revolution appeared at this year's Xbox Games Showcase, fans were surprised to see actual pre-Alpha gameplay from inXile's next game. As reported prior to the announcement, it's a steampunk roleplaying game led by the makers of Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 5. Unlike Arcanum, which was played from an isometric point of view, the upcoming project is a strictly first-person game.

Various Amazon devices such as TVs, smart displays, smart products and others operate on a forked version of Google's Android system. But now, Amazon is reported to planning its own in-house operating system which means the company will break its ties with Google starting from next year.
