Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2's Switch port is in hot water after players discovered that it has 40-second loading times, is stuck at 30fps, and looks significantly worse than on other consoles.
After the infamous launch of the first All-Star Brawl that ended with most of the player base ditching it after just a few months, Nickelodeon fans can rest easy knowing that its sequel, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, is a marked improvement over the original in every way and a solid platform fighter in its own right. If you're playing on anything other than the Nintendo Switch, that is.
It looks like All-Star Brawl 2 might just not be a game to play on handheld consoles right now, as some players have also had trouble with playing it on Steam Deck.
Following the game's launch on all consoles just a few days ago, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 fans who have been playing the game on Switch have taken to social media to point out some of the big issues that the port has. One of the biggest is its extremely long loading times, which were shown off in a video by GameXplain.
In the video, you can see that a normal 1v1 match of All-Star Brawl 2 takes around six seconds to load up on the PS5 and equivalent consoles. The Switch version of the game, meanwhile, takes six times longer than that at a whopping 40 seconds. Considering how many normal battles you're going to be playing through in All-Star Brawl, that's a ton of extra time wasted on letting things load.
Other players have reported that things like switching characters can take between 10 and 12 seconds too. Although those issues are pretty bad right now, they do at least seem like they're going to be fixed in the future, as the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Twitter account has confirmed that the long loading times in the Switch version are being worked on.
Long loading times aren't the only problem that some players are having with the Switch port, however. Performance is another issue, with players reporting that it's locked at 30fps and doesn't even manage to reach that most of the time, with some of the platforming levels found in the Arcade and Campaign mode slowing it down to an absolute crawl.
Combine those two issues with the graphics looking noticeably muddier and more pixelated (just take a look at the examples used on the Nintendo store page), and it's clear that All-Star Brawl 2 should be avoided on the Nintendo Switch right now, at least until some of the major issues have been worked out.

The NASA team was surprised by the performance of the new Mars helicopter while conducting the test. Know the details.

If you ever want to toss a discourse grenade into a room and watch the sparks fly, bring up skill-based matchmaking. How much or little developers should factor player skill into who you're permitted to play against in multiplayer games is an evergreen debate of our hobby, but it's not everyday that an expert on the topic chimes in.
In a crossover I never thought I'd be writing about, three Newcastle United FC (NUFC) players descended on xQc, iShowSpeed, Clix, and Mongraal with shotguns (in Fortnite) and laid waste to them in just under two minutes at 1am. Speedy HQ shared a clip of the wipeout on Twitter where you can hear all four streamers getting progressively madder at footballers they don't know from what is objectively the best city in England.
