With the new season, comes new goodies and new Blessings in Diablo 4. Blessings are unlocked by spending Smoldering Ash which is acquired through the free tiers of the Battle Pass for Seasonal Characters. The Smoldering Ash is gained through completing various challenges to advance the Battle Pass. With Season of Blood, some new changes have been made to how Blessings and Smoldering Ashes work.

Smoldering Ashes Progression
Smoldering Ashes are distributed throughout the free tiers of the Battle Pass at various increments. In season 2, this has been adjusted to allow players to gain the ashes at earlier levels.

New Season Blessings
There are three new Season Blessings to unlock with your Smoldering Ashes, each of which will significantly aid your leveling journey and beyond.
- Urn of Blood: Boost the Hunter’s Acclaim you earn from Blood Harvest activities.
- Urn of Helltides: Boost the chance to receive an extra equipment item from Helltide chests. The extra item will be of Legendary rarity or better.
- Urn of Swift Travel: Boost how quickly your Mount recovers from sprinting.
Hunter's Acclaim is a Faction Reputation that you can progress from completing various special events, slaying powerful Vampires, and freeing villagers during Blood Harvests for all kinds of powerful Seasonal rewards.
Helltides are going to be a particularly valuable event to do regularly as Helltides will be improved in various ways come Season 2, such as the addition of the new Endgame Boss Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint that is accessible through Helltides.
With the changes to Helltides, the new Blood Harvest event, and the faster spawn rate of World Bosses players will want to get around the world much faster than before. This will also help players gain Renown faster, activate Altars of Lilith and Waypoints and generally level faster.
There are also two Season Blessings returning from Season 1. Urn of Aggression, which boosts XP earned from monster kills, has been confirmed to be returning to Season 2, while the second Blessing has been confirmed as one of two options from various Blizzard sources. This Blessing could be either the Urn of Prolonging, which boosts the duration of all Elixirs, or the Urn of Reclamation, which boosts the chance of rare materials from salvage.
