World's Edge studio and TiMi Studio Group revealed the first gameplay trailer for Age of Empires Mobile, a new strategy game from this popular franchise coming to mobile devices later this year. While this new Age of Empires game is not the first one coming to mobile devices, its developers aim to provide a brand-new experience close to the one from the mainline entries in the series.
World's Edge studio is part of Xbox Game Studios and has been overseeing the Age of Empires franchise since 2019. Besides remasters of previous installments in the series, World’s Edge studio released Age of Empires 4, one of the best medieval strategy games which received “generally favorable reviews” on Metacritic with a score of 81 out of 100. For this new Age of Empires mobile game, World’s Edge studio is teaming up with TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent Games with experience working on popular mobile games such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokemon Unite.
The release of this first Age of Empires Mobile gameplay trailer unveils more about the features players can expect from this new entry in the series. According to the developers, this new installment will bring a “brand-new twist” to the traditionalAge of Empires formula. Players will be able to pick their civilization between the French, Byzantine, Romans, and Chinese, gather resources, and build their empire with various historical heroes such as Hannibal, Charlemagne, Alexander the Great, or Barbarossa. Age of Empires Mobile will feature various terrains for players to use to their advantage, as well as a vast world to explore and dynamic battlefields with destructible elements. Last but not least, Age of Empires Mobile features online multiplayer for players to test their worth against opponents across the world.
Players can pre-register for Age of Empires Mobile on Google Play and App Store.
