It's been just over two years since acclaimed animated League of Legends spin-off Arcane launched on Netflix, but finally its long-awaited second season has the closest thing to a release date yet. The bad news is there's still a long wait in store; the streaming service has now confirmed Arcane season two will launch in November 2024.
The first season of Arcane told the story of sisters Jinx and Vi — two of League of Legends most popular champions — as they find themselves caught on different sides of a conflict between the rich city of Piltover and the oppressed underground city of Zaun, which hits boiling point after the invention of Hextech technology.
Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell will reprise their roles as Vi and Jinx in Arcane's upcoming second season — which fans have been waiting for since it was confirmed to be happening shortly after the release of season one — with Katie Leung also set to return as Caitlyn Kiramman.
Expectations are, of course, high for Arcane season 2. It wasn't just a hit with League of Legends fans when it launched on Netflix in November 2021; it was met with significant critical acclaim too — Eurogamer's Chris Tapsell called it «absolutely a thrill, full of welcome colour and life», despite a few reservations — and it even went onto win a Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, beating the likes of The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, and Bob's Burgers.
So yes, we've all got an appointment with Arcane season 2 (or Act 2, as it's officially known), in approximately 12 months time, it seems. If you need something to keep you busy in the meantime, there's always Arcane's five-part making-of series which aired on Netflix last year.

Fallout fans are eager to see more on the upcoming adaption of the popular video game that is making its way to Amazon Prime next year. Now, fans have been treated to new details and images of the upcoming series thanks to a first look and interview from Vanity Fair, including a look at its main character and several iconic elements of the video games, as well as some words from the director Jonathan Nolan and executive producer Todd Howard on what fans can expect.
Big thumbs up here.
The CEO of Immortals of Aveum developer Ascendant Studios has said releasing the game during such a busy window «100 percent» contributed to its poor sales figures.

Unity has announced the next version of its engine will launch in 2024 and expand on its «responsibly sourced» AI tools.
Ubisoft has detailed its season pass for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
The Last of Us season 2 will reportedly begin filming in early 2024. As per the FTIA production list, the second chapter is slated to shoot from January 7, 2024, onwards. The shooting schedule was delayed due to the Hollywood actors' and writers' strikes — both of which have ended now. Considering the show was not mentioned in HBO's 2024 slate, we can assume it will be out sometime in 2025 at the soonest. This is a bit off course from what lead Bella Ramsey — who played Ellie in season 1 — suggested, at a time when there were murmurs of a potential strike. It goes without saying that the series will adapt the events from the gory and polarising sequel, The Last of Us Part II, with plans for the arc from the video game to play out for longer than a season.
It’s been over five years since BioWare officially announced that it was working on the next Dragon Age game, and in all the time since then, besides the most miniscule of teases and updates, we haven’t heard much about the sequel. Of course, leaks have claimed that 2024 might finally be the year that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf releases, and another recent development seems to be pointing to that as well.
Blizzard has released a set of class tuning that will go live with Season 3 on November 14th. Augmentation Evokers received fairly substantial nerfs to a number of abilities.
If you've seen Netflix's Arcane League of Legends animated series, there's a high probability you really like it – the show's great, even for non-League of Legends fans. It tells the heartwrenching story of sisters Vi and Jinx and their struggle to come to terms with each other in the high-tech (and magical) utopian city of Piltover and its seedy underbelly known as Zaun. The first season hit the subscription streaming service in November of 2021and now we know that Arcane Season 2 hits Netflix this time next year.
There's good news and bad news for fans of Arcane, the League of Legends animated show that knocked our socks off in 2021. The good news is that Arcane season 2, which was confirmed last year, now has a release window. The bad news, I'm sorry to say, is that it's more than a year away.
