Mortal Kombat Fans Are Thirsting Over Reptile

A new trailer was shown off for Mortal Kombat 1 as part of the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream. Beyond being another peek at the narrative, there are a few character reveals, as well.

A new was shown off during today’s Gamescom opening night presentation, revealing four characters who will be in the game — two as playable characters and the other two as Kameo Fighters.

As expected,Mortal Kombat fans just got their first look at four new Mortal Kombat 1 fighters during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. 

It’s less than a month until release, and the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, which was made available to those who pre-ordered the game, provides a taste of what’s to come. While it doesn’t showcase the story mode or all the fighters available in the video game, it demonstrates how this soft reboot may rejuvenate the franchise in all the right ways. While everyone is still coming off the hype of learning that the game will be a reboot rather than another step in the long line of games, a Brazilian retailer might have leaked a key detail about what kind of game mode we can expect in the upcoming release, a single-player mode (Invasion) for Mortal Kombat 1.

All three are shown off in the new trailer, called the Banished trailer, shows the allegiances each has. It appears that both Ashra and Reptile are fighting to protect Earthrealm while Havik wants to see it destroyed.

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive unveiled what many believed would be a remaster/remake of Red Dead Redemption earlier today, although it appears early rumors may have hyped things up a lot more than it needed to be. Instead, it was revealed that the original Red Dead Redemption is simply being ported to both PS4 and Nintendo Switch for the first time, as the PS4 isn't backwards compatible with PS3 titles and the game has never released on a Nintendo console prior.

Quan Chi is part of the first Kombat Pack's line-up, which many took to mean he won't be a part of Mortal Kombat 1's story. However, eagle-eyed fans have spotted him slumped over and knocked out in the new Banished trailer.
