Monster Hunter Now gives you the chance to explore your local neighborhood and track down some of the most dangerous monsters that have appeared throughout the Monster Hunter franchise. Alongside your daily hunts, there are going to be multiple events happening throughout October 2023 that you can participate in by yourself or with your friends.
You can keep track of a handful of events while playing Monster Hunter Now. This guide covers every event happening in the mobile game during October 2023.
Table of ContentsIt’s important to note that Monster Hunter Now is a newer game from Niantic, and because it’s new, there are not too many events to check out throughout October 2023. We have three big ones: Tobi-Kadachi Weekend, Rathian & Pink Rathian Week, and Halloween Pumpkin Hunt.
The first event of the month will be a weekend full of increased opportunities to hunt Tobi-Kadachi in Monster Hunter Now. There will be three opportunities to encounter Tobi-Kadachi in the Swamp and Forest Habitats.
Rathian will be spawning in Monster Hunter Now, and this is the first time Pink Rathian will spawn in the game. However, you will need to have completed Chapter 9 in Monster Hunter Now to track down a Pink Rathian, and they’re going to be appearing in Forest Habitats. Like Tobi-Kadachi, they will appear at distinct times during the event. The event will occur from October 9, 2023, at 12 AM to October 13, 2023, at 4:59 PM in your local time zone.
The final event for October 2023 is the Halloween Pumpkin Hunt taking place in Monster Hunter Now. There will be Halloween-themed equipment for players to craft, and Kulu-Ya-Ku will uniquely appear throughout the event. That’s all we know about the Halloween Pumpkin Hunt right now, but we can expect additional information as we get closer to the end of October. This event will take place from October 25, 2023, until October 31, 2023, closing out the month in Monster Hunter Now.

Following the footsteps of Pokémon GO and its plethora of events, Niantic has announced a Monster Hunter Now Halloween event! Get ready to pick pumpkins, or at least rocks painted like pumpkins that have appeared across the map!
Like Great Swords and Long Swords in Monster Hunter Now, Hammers are slow weapons with a high damage output. However, Hammers have the added bonus of potentially stunning monsters. You have a higher chance of stunning monsters if you hit a monster’s head.
Monster Hunter Now currently has two ranged weapons: the Bow and the Light Bowgun. Think of these like how the Great Sword is to the Sword & Shield. While both the Bow and Light Bowgun offer increased distance, the Bow is a slower weapon with a higher damage output while the Light Bowgun attacks rapidly with less damage.
In addition to a weapon’s Special Skill, all weapons and armor pieces in Monster Hunter Now have Equipment Skills. These skills enhance your combat in some way, either by providing stat buffs or reducing monsters’ effects.
Large Monsters are the core of the Monster Hunter Now gameplay. Focusing on combat, the game offers monstrous enemies with unique attack patterns. To master the game, you’re encouraged to learn these patterns and time your attacks and dodges accordingly. But if you want to button (or screen) mash, you can do that too.
When hunting Large Monsters in Monster Hunter Now, you have the option to either solo the hunt or invite other hunters to join you. The Group Hunt feature unlocks at Hunter Rank 6 and allows you and up to three other hunters to form a team during a hunt.
Monster Hunter Now features six different weapon types for you to use. The game starts you off with the Sword & Shield. As you progress through the story quests, you’ll unlock more weapons.
With the announcement of Activision and Blizzard joining the Microsoft family, you might wonder where many of the larger games will be headed. One of the many larger franchises set to join Microsoft is the Call of Duty series, alongside every game that has released for it, and future installments.
Paintballs are a unique mechanic in Monster Hunter Now and one of the most well-received among players. Other augmented reality games haven’t put something similar into practice, so this may open the door to more save-for-later mechanics.
Though infrequent, Monster Hunter Now will occasionally offer redemption codes. Recently, the Monster Hunter Now X (formerly Twitter) account released a redemption code in honor of the game achieving 5 million downloads worldwide.
Like all good mobile games based on video game franchises, Monster Hunter Now rewarded players who pre-registered. Anyone who installed the app and entered a Hunter name before September 25, 2023, will receive the bonus. If you meet the requirements, you have until November 30, 2023, to collect your reward. Make sure you have the most current version of the app or you won’t be able to redeem your rewards.
