A modder has claimed that Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection has used some of his work without permission.
Prior to release, modder Iamashaymin claimed that footage of Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection that appeared in a trailer suggested that developer Aspyr was using his mod.
Following this, Apsyr released a statement claiming it had “mistakenly” used footage of this mod, and that it was a placeholder. Now, following the full release, players appear to have discovered evidence that prior to a very last-minute patch, the game shipped with the uncredited mod work.
Footage noticed by IGN shows a player on Reddit showing off the character Asajj Ventress using what appears to be Iamashaymin’s mod.
While the current version of the game has removed these animations, Aspyr has yet to comment on how Iamashaymin’s work appeared in the game, despite their claims that they used “no uncredited work” on the remaster project.
On Friday, Aspyr addressed criticism of the launch, encouraging players to report any issues.
The game, which was released on Thursday, has been met with significant criticism on social media and its Steam page, where its user ratings currently stand at 19% positive.
According to some players, when the game launched, some modes featured a maximum of three PC servers to accommodate the entire community. This meant that out of the over 20,000 players on PC on launch night, only 192 were able to access some of the game’s modes.
“Since launch, we’ve been working to address these issues and increase network stability, and we will continue our efforts until our network infrastructure is stabilized to prevent further outages.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection hasn't had what anyone could call a good start, launching with major server issues and an enormous file size around eight times the size of both original games put together.
