Michael De Santa is one of the most fully fleshed out characters in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. A former crook who feels disconnected from his spoiled, wealthy family, Michael struggles with a desire to relive his ‘glory days’ and finding peace and solace with his estranged loved ones. As relatable as Michael’s story can be at some points, it’s hard to see him as a good person, though one can believe he is trying to become one.
The actor playing Michael, Ned Luke, knows he created some huge shoes to fill for the actors coming after him to play the protagonists in Grand Theft Auto 6. But having seen nothing else but the same trailer that the public has, he is already impressed with one of his replacements.
As reported by PSU, he has a lot of praise for Lucia, the first playable woman in the franchise, and really, any playable woman in any Rockstar game ever. Here’s what Ned had to say:
“GTA 6 is going to be the biggest game ever. But she looked good, but protagonist-wise, she looks like a badass to me. That last scene where they come busting in, she just looked like a badass. And the thing that was cool was that she led the way.
She kicked open the door, and then Jason was back here. So I don’t know if you read into that as she’s going to be the big time and he’s going to be with her, or what.”
While Luke didn’t become a household name, he worked as an actor in film and TV from 1984 to the 2000s. So of course, he sees the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, not just as a fan of the product that he is now a part of, but as someone in the industry trying to piece together what this project and its character roles will be like.
That’s Ned pointing out just how interesting Lucia’s character will be for the actor who will be playing her. Fans may have been trying hard to uncover who that actor is, but even without knowing who, Ned is pointing out that we should be expecting someone really good at it. They will have to be to play this character who seems to be the leader in this pair of star-crossed lovers.
