Metaphor: ReFantazio will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on October 11, publisher ATLUS and developer Studio Zero announced.
In the west, the game will be priced at $69.99 for the physical and digital standard edition, and $149.99 for the physical Collector’s Edition. The latter includes the base game for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series, a SteelBook, the official soundtrack, an art book, Homo Tenta metallic pins, a sticker sheet, a Kingdom of Euchronia cloth map, a “Costume and Battle Background Music Set” downloadable content voucher, the ATLUS 35th Anniversary Digital History Book, the ATLUS 35th Anniversary 35th Digital All-Time Best Soundtrack, and a pre-order bonus voucher. Pre-orders are available now at GameStop, VGP, and other retailers.
In Japan, the game will be priced at 9,878 yen for the physical and digital standard edition, and 18,480 yen for the physical “ATLUS Brand 35th Anniversary Edition.” The latter includes the base game for PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4, a premium art book, a special soundtrack, the ATLUS 35th Anniversary History Book, the ATLUS 35th Anniversary All-Time Best Soundtrack, a special original acrylic stand, a sticker set, and a “Costume and Battle Background Music Set” downloadable content voucher.
An “ATLUS Brand 35th Anniversary Digital Anniversary Edition” will also be available for 15,510 yen, which includes a digital copy of the base game, the digital premium art book, the digital special soundtrack, the ATLUS 35th Anniversary Digital History Book, the ATLUS 35th Anniversary Digital All-Time Best Soundtrack, and the “Costume and Battle Background Music Set” downloadable content.

Atlus game fans are looking forward to Metaphor: ReFantazio, but the game is going to be missing a common mechanic of Persona games that players enjoy: building romances with NPCs. Atlus first teased that it was working on a new RPG with a fantasy setting in mid-2023 — it also said way back then that it will be available sometime this year. Now, the developer has revealed that the game, Metaphor: ReFantazio, will come out on October 11 at a special livestream event. Katsura Hashino, the director of the game, as well as of Persona 3, 4 and 5, also introduced a 30-minute hands-on gameplay that gives you quite a lengthy look at its story and combat mechanics. Similar to the Persona games, Metaphor: ReFantazio has a turn-based combat system with what Atlus says is a «blend of real-time action.»
