Earth Defense Force 6 launches July 25 in the west

Idea Factory International has delayed the Switch versions of Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation from their previously planned May 21 release date in the west to an unannounced date.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Switch are the highlights of this week’s Japanese video game releases.

Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer MAGES. will release romance visual novels The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer and The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Memories Spent With You digitally for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 23 in the west for $34.99 each, the companies announced. A “Double Pack” containing both games will also be available for $59.99.

The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) versions of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board! will launch on July 16 in North America and Europe, publisher SEGA announced. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions will be available both physically and digitally.

The Switch version of Tokyo Xanadu eX+ will launch on July 25, a delay from its previously planned June release window, publisher Aksys Games announced.

Urban fantasy action RPG REYNATIS will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on September 27 in the west, publisher NIS America announced.

Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE+ will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on October 1 in the west for $59.99 / €59.99 / £54.99, Spike Chunsoft announced. In Japan, the game will launch as previously announced on July 18 for 6,350 yen.

While many card games come and go, one that has remained relevant for over two decades is Magic: The Gathering (herein, Magic). Magic has survived the test of time as both a physical and digital tabletop game, with fans that play around the world. D3 has confirmed it'll be bringing Earth Defense Force 6 to Western shores on PS5, PS4 from 24th July 2024, just shy of two years after its original Japanese release. A tongue-in-cheek news bulletin trailer has been posted online to mark the update and pre-orders are live on the PS Store now. The release date means EDF fans are in for quite the summer since Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is also slated to arrive on PS5, PS4 on 26th September 2024.
