Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Shows Off Venom in New SDCC Trailer

We've been luxuriating in all the new Marvel's Spider-Man 2 details from today's San Diego Comic-Con panel, which included a stunning new story trailer and a limited-edition Spider-Man 2 PS5 bundle, the aesthetics of which has already polarised opinion within Push Square's own editorial staff.

Update: Pre-orders will open on 28th July for a stunning new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition hardware model. The console, which features a custom design, will be available in two permutations, both with or without a Blu-ray disc slot. It’ll also come with a matching DualSense design, showcasing the duality of Peter Parker’s struggle against the Venom symbiote.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already almost been a week since San Diego Comic-Con started up. The event may not have been the “all-consuming event” it had been in the past, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t anything to do at the show. Case in point, many comic panels and vendors saw their business boom because fans were willing to check out their tables and content versus simply going to the “big Hollywood stuff.” Another thing that happened was that video game panels took the show by storm, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 having a panel for fans to enjoy.

Tony Todd was on hand in San Diego Comic Con 2023 to talk about voicing Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

It’s safe to assume that Venom is going to be the star of the show in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but of course, he isn’t going to be the only antagonist that our two heroes will be locking horns with in the highly anticipated sequel. On top of the struggles in their own personal lives, as New York’s two Spider-Men, Peter and Miles will also be fighting against other famous Spider-Man villains in the form of Lizard and Kraven the Hunter. In fact, the latter is going to be the “catalyst” for the entire story.

Recently at San Diego Comic-Con, a dedicated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 panel brought with it an explosive new trailer for the highly anticipated new title, in addition to several new gameplay and story details. Now, a cut version of the panel and some of its highlights has also been uploaded to YouTube, revealing some more new tidbits about the game.

Spider-Man 2 is launching on October 20, 2023, with Wolverine set to follow in Fall 2024. Insomniac is hard at work, but it has even more up its sleeve with an unannounced triple-A game as confirmed by project director Erin Eberhardt.

The new story trailer is all about Kraven as one new antagonist, Venom, the alien symbiote that has become an iconic part of the Spider-Man story, and the shared story of Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios swung into San Diego Comic-Con to deliver a brand new trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and reveal a Limited Edition PS5 console.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had a big presence at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, and it was punctuated by the “Symbiotic Relationships” panel that dropped the new story trailer for the title. In it, we saw the rise of Venom, the return of Harry Osborne, Martin Li, and more, and questions about how far certain heroes will go to save the day. While many are obsessed with the new trailer and are dissecting it as much as possible, there were more details about the title dropped during the panel by the Insomniac Games team and detailed on the PlayStation Blog. For example, Narrative Director Jon Paquette talked about where the game would “start off” and how our three main heroes aren’t in the same positions as before:
