A reliable Marvel Rivals insider has shared evidence from the closed beta test's files that hints at 20 unannounced characters coming to the game, including all of the Fantastic Four members, Squirrel Girl, and Venom.
One of the most exciting games releasing in 2024 is Marvel Rivals, an Overwatch-style Hero shooter using Marvel characters that was revealed a couple of months ago. We haven't seen that much gameplay of Rivals so far, but we do at least know a ton of different Marvel heroes and villains that are going to be in the game at launch.
A few days ago, a closed beta test for Marvel Rivals began, giving select lucky players an early look at how the game plays and how each of the heroes will work. Thanks to dataminers, the closed beta test has also inadvertently given us a good idea of what heroes are eventually going to be added to the game in the future.
Over on Twitter, reliable Marvel Rivals insider Miller Ross, who made a name for himself reporting leaks for Marvel Avengers and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, shared a list of 39 characters who were found in the closed beta test's files, including 20 that haven't been announced yet.
The four most exciting characters within the closed beta test's files are, fittingly, the members of The Fantastic Four. According to the datamine, The Human Torch, Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and The Thing are all set to join Marvel Rivals at some point in the future. Ross says that he thinks Johnny Storm is likely to be the first of the Fantastic Four who will join the game due to how far along his character's data is.
The Fantastic Four might seem like an obvious pick for Marvel Rivals but, as anyone who played Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will tell you, it's actually been a long time since we've seen them in a Marvel game
Outside of the Fantastic Four, some of the characters that are hinted at in the files for Marvel Rivals include Venom, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Ultron, Thor, Squirrel Girl, and a whole lot more. You can check out Ross' tweet above to get the full list, but there's certainly a lot to get excited about in Marvel Rivals' future.
