The Monster Hunter release wheel is starting to turn again as Capcom prepares for the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, confirmed to be here in 2025. Let's hope that's by this time next year and not closer to a holiday release. Other than dipping back into Monster Hunter World, there are other ways to keep your love of the series ticking over in the meantime. Especially now that its set of desktop figures is finally easy to find and buy in the US.

The board game adaptation of goliath manga and anime series Demon Slayer is coming to PS5 and PS4, after debuting meekly on Nintendo Switch last month. The title couldn’t top 20,000 sales in Japan during Golden Week, and so Sony subsidiary Aniplex will be hoping the CyberConnect2 title sells a little better on PlayStation platforms.

We all know retail PS5 software sales are pretty poor in Japan right now, so it’s a testament to Shift Up’s character action outing that Stellar Blade’s actually doing decently. The Korean outing tagged another 13,033 units to its total for the week ending 12th May, lifting its lifetime sales up to 80,164 units overall. With digital numbers excluded, that’s not a bad number at all.

Developer M2 has released Toaplan shoot ’em ups collection Kyukyoku Tiger-Heli: Toaplan Game Garage for PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Store and Switch via Nintendo eShop in North America for $34.99. The downloadable content “Console Ports + Get Star Pack” is also available for $17.99.

While here in the US the Nintendo Switch Online service got three new Mario games this week (yes, Alleyway is a Mario game), the update for Japan included a bonus classic you may not have heard of. Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (officially translated as The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls) was a Japanese Game Boy release, co-developed by the familiar tag-team of Nintendo R&D1 and Intelligent Systems, responsible for much of the Game Boy’s lineup. And while The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls may not be a household name, if you’re a fan of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (and who isn’t?) you should take the time to play it.

Nintendo’s latest additions to the Nintendo Switch Online lineup of Game Boy games is led by Super Mario Land, the 1989 platformer made exclusively for the company’s handheld system. Super Mario Land is joined by two other Game Boy launch titles now available for Nintendo Switch Online, and they’re both Mario games too.

The Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online app will add has added Alleyway, Baseball, and Super Mario Land, Nintendo announced.

Map-crafting / puzzles / battle RPG KAMiBAKO: Mythology of Cube will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on August 29 in Japan for 5,800 yen, publisher and developer Gravity Game Arise announced. Physical editions will be available for PlayStation 5 and Switch for 6,380 yen. The Japanese release will only support the Japanese language. A release date for other territories will be announced at a later time.

Red Dead Redemption may finally launch on PC 14 years after its original release, judging from some recent findings.

In the most anticlimactic way possible, Nintendo on Tuesday confirmed years of rumors: the Nintendo Switch 2 console is on the way.

Nintendo just announced the Switch 2 in the most casual way possible. Tweeting on the Japanese account, Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed an announcement would arrive "within the fiscal year", while also revealing a new Direct is due to take place in June. However, the Switch 2 will not be at this Direct, as it will focus only on the second half of 2024 for the original Switch - right now, Nintendo's upcoming roster looks very empty, possibly due to the hole created by the Switch 2.

Entergram will release Cabbage Soft-developed romance visual novel Jewelry Hearts Academia: We Will Wing Wonder World for PlayStation 4 and Switch on October 24 in Japan for 8,228 yen, listing at retailers such as Biccamera and Neowing reveal.
