Already released on PC, the Lovecraftian action platformer is coming to Android. The Metroidvania experience will bring eldritch horrors reminiscent of Lovecraft’s monsters to life. Publishing company, PID Games, is no stranger to successful Android games, and Elderand looks primed to be one more for the collection. A notable feature in Elderand’s is the players’ ability to fully customize their characters, from skills and stats to appearance and fighting style. Resources and riches allow players to craft better armor and weaponry as they progress. Elderand’s combat mechanics also provides players with a wide range of weaponry to choose from, allowing all combat preferences to shine.
Google Play touts Elderand as gruesome, with glory and riches awaiting those skilled enough to kill for them. But Elderand is not touting itself as just another hack and slash. Exploration also plays a vital factor in getting the most out of the story. Cursed Cathedrals, floating islands, dark forests, even darker prisons and more await the brave adventurer. Players must find monsters, befriend NPCs and loot whatever they can. Elderand also has something for the collector at heart; lost letters and items can be looted from fallen foes which will help players unravel eldritch mysteries.
Elderand is not free to play, but mobile users can save 28% by pre-registering. A cost reduction that will last through the first day of the game’s launch. If the game’s hand-drawn graphics, character customization and combat versatility do not pull players in, perhaps the discount will. Be sure to check back later for more news and the upcoming Elderand review here on Hardcore Droid.

Yesterday, The Astronauts laid out plans for the early access launch of Witchfire, exclusive to PC via the Epic Games Store for a year. It revealed that two maps would be available, each “more or less” the size of the world in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The real question is: How long will early access be for?
It’s September 2023. We are eight years removed from the debut of the Bloodstained Kickstarter, and four years removed from its full launch. You could say…it’s been a while. Time management seminars aside, that’s exactly why I admire the raw tenacity of Bloodstained director Shutaro Iida and producer Koji “IGA” Igarashi (and their team); who have been working on a single release for this long in an era of fleeting live service games. And it’s still being worked on, as two new modes are on the way.

Baldur's Gate 3's second patch is right around the corner, with Larian Studios suggesting that it's a ‘chonky' one. In a community update post on Steam, the developer revealed that the patch will be focused on improving performance issues, specifically in Act 3, where players have reported laggy cutscenes and stutters when the camera pans around. In addition to fixing bugs that halted quest progression, our companion, the cheerful Tiefling Karlach, will be getting a new optional ending — a closure that is described as ‘fiery' and ‘poignant'. The lengthy blog post also touches upon some cut content that was discovered recently by data miners, some of which have now been revealed as a consequence of bugs.
Patch 2 will deliver «major» changes to the game.
