Lords of the Fallen's release is imminent, and while we aren't there quite yet, we have a new trailer to tide us over in the meantime. Prepare to die or something like it from 13th October on PS5.
Reputedly more than five times larger than the original 2014 Lords of the Fallen, this bleak fantasy world is an intricate, interconnected play space in the style of the best Souls-likes. As a Dark Crusader, you must journey through the realms of the living and the dead and overcome colossal boss encounters in order to bring light to this blackened world or ensure it is consumed by darkness.
Key features, as described by publisher CI Games and developer Hexworks, are as follows:

Khayl Adam is the second best video game journalist Australia has ever produced, and his ambitions of world domination have (thus far) been curbed by the twin siren songs of strategy games and CRPGs. He has always felt an affinity for the noble dachshund, the best kind of dog.
Holy smokes that looks nice
Have a big holiday coming up please don't make me buy another game outside of Mario Wonder this month… Ok one more.
I saw a boss video today (lady with the wings) and the game looks pretty poor. Like there seems to be no impact to any hits and the animations look poor. Definitely needs more time in the oven.
I keep forgetting this falls in 2023! Looking forward to reviews although I have earmarked Spiderman as the last game I will be purchasing this year. In over 30 years of gaming I don’t think I have ever seen a year packed with as much quality as this one. The wallet needs a break!
WOW! what a great trailer. Artistically this is amazing neo-gothic architecture and all. While they clearly started with Dark & Demon's Souls as inspiration they have plenty of their own flair shining through, and the switching realms mechanic seems interesting.
It LOOKS absolutely lovely, I just hope that it PLAYS well too. If so we could be in for something special. If not, it will fall apart quickly. Carefully balanced gameplay is critical in these games, tough but fair. Anxiously await reviews, but sadly no chance to fit it in this year, either way. Too many games, so little time.
Reviews coming today? I read somewhere embargo lifted on the 11th..maybe could be wrong
Have they said when reviews will be coming out? I’m digging how game looks but I’m still being cautious about putting my money down.
Most anticipated review of the year
