Lego returned to Middle-earth for the first time in a decade last year when it debuted its Rivendell set. A part of Lego's Icons range, the toy brick recreation of the iconic Lord of the Rings location is made up of more than 6,000 pieces and costs $500. It makes sense that there'd be a wait for anything more following the release of a set that size, but it seems the wait is almost over. Lego has teased a new Lord of the Rings set is coming, and the Eye of Sauron will be at its center.
The teaser begins with a close-up of a single black brick, and when touched, an image of a Lego Eye of Sauron takes its place, much like the one shown in the movies when somebody slips on The One Ring. That's as much as we know about whatever Lego has coming next on the Lord of the Rings front for now, but based on the short teaser it's safe to assume that the next set will be modeled after Barad-dur, the homebase from which Sauron ruled in Mordor.
If the next Lord of the Rings set is going to be a Lego version of Barad-dur, then it's probably also safe to assume it will be on the same level in terms of complexity and price as the Rivendell set. Almost certainly another expensive option with thousands of bricks to do the iconic location justice, but since Lord of the Rings is an IP that primarily appeals to adults, it makes sense that Lego would stick to keeping the sets spun from it ones that are aimed at older Lego fans.
This LEGO set features the Elven valley of Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring film.
While not confirmed by Lego, a follow-up from Brick Fanatics suggests there's more than just the Barad-dur set on the Middle-earth horizon. The new set could come with a Fellbeast set for free which will potentially include some exclusive Minifigures. Three of them, but which characters they will be is entirely down to hope, guesswork, and speculation for the time being. Giving away sets for free would be on brand for Lego in 2024 as it handed out Star Wars sets with select purchases for May 4 earlier this month.
Lego's focus, at least when it comes to officially licensed sets, so far this year has been wholly focused on Star Wars, not only for Star Wars Day but also because it's been 25 years since the release of the first Lego Star Wars set. Now that May 4 has been and gone that focus may shift. A Lord of the Rings set is coming, potentially quite soon since the official teasers have already begun, and there's still an expectation a Legend of Zelda set will be revealed. The hope for that may have dwindled slightly after Tears of the Kingdom's anniversary has been and gone without any mention of it.

LEGO has turned over a new leaf this week by launching its first ever set inspired by the Legend of Zelda.
Along with my usual batch of the best deals of the day, the big news is the dropping of the first official Legend of Zelda LEGO set. Hope you have unlocked your Giant's Wallet because the RRP of this 2-in-1 set is deku nuts. Still, being able to shift it from a Breath of the Wild theme to the old GOAT Ocarina of Time is much appreciated. Even if the asking rupees price still isn't (he said, as though he hadn't already preordered it himself hours ago).
The first official LEGO set has finally been revealed. There have been rumors that LEGO would be delving into the world of Hyrule for quite some time, with joining other well-known Nintendo IPs such as and , which have had their own LEGO ranges.
Activision has released a new trailer for its next major title in the Call of Duty franchise—Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The trailer taps into some of theBlack Ops franchise’s conspiratorial leanings, by showing live action footage of various American TV clips.
For some time now, we’ve been hearing two key rumors about 2024’s entry in the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise – a) that it would be a continuation of the Black Ops series developed by Treyarch, and b) that it would be set during the 90s with the first Gulf War being a focal point. Well, last week Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was officially announced as this year’s CoD title, and now a new live-action teaser has essentially confirmed that 90s Gulf War setting.
Fortnitecontinues its growth into a platform for experiences beyond the battle royale shooter, and now its adding another Lego game to its roster. The gaming parents among you will likely be keen for your kids to share in your interests. The problem with that when it comes to gaming is there are limits on when exactly you can introduce them to some of your favorite games. Yes, many of us might have been playing GTA from far too young an age, but that shouldn't have flown then and it definitely doesn't fly now. If Halo is your series of choice, thanks to Fisher Price, there's something to bridge the gap. Its lead characters have been turned into Little People, and the quartet of figures has finally found its way onto Amazon.
From a new mainline single-player instalment and a co-op multiplayer game to an alleged remaster of the first game and even an MMO, reports have indicated that Guerrilla and Sony’s Horizon franchise has plenty of irons in the first, and now, another upcoming, as-of-yet unannounced title seems to have emerged through leaks.
Sony and LEGO are reportedly collaborating on a new PlayStation video game called LEGO Horizon Adventures.

Lego has a storied history in the world of video games with a massive back catalogue that dwarfs even some of the biggest publishers in the world. From licenced classics like Lego Star Wars to more recent games based solely on the Lego brand like Lego 2K Drive, the variety is impressive and there have been far more hits than misses.
