Konami has issued updates concerning Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, aimed at resolving ongoing issues and charting out strategies for enhancing players' experiences. Moreover, the studio has offered insights into its upcoming titles and its broader plans beyond Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 offers a comprehensive compilation of remastered titles from the iconicMetal Gear series, celebrating its 35th anniversary. Released in October 2023, the collection features the first five main entries, accompanied by additional content such as VR Missions, NES versions of earlier games, game guides, and motion comics. Notably, the collection marks the debut of Metal Gear Solid on Xbox platforms and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Windows, and Xbox consoles, providing fans with diverse ways to experience the renowned stealth series.
During a Metal Gear Production Hotline session, Konami shared insights into the current status of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 after its latest update, acknowledging several persistent issues reported by players. These issues include graphical discrepancies, suboptimal settings for modern hardware, lack of control configuration options, and unnatural keyboard controls on certain platforms. Additionally, specific Codec and radio voice data are reportedly missing on the Nintendo Switch version of the collection.
Series producer Noriaki Okamura and promotion manager Jiro Oishi assured fans that fixes for these issues are in progress. The development team is actively investigating solutions to address the graphical upscaling method, optimize settings for current hardware standards, and improve control configurations across platforms. However, Konami emphasized that resolving these issues may take time to ensure comprehensive and satisfactory fixes.
In response to inquiries about a potential Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Konami stated that release dates and titles for future collections have not yet been finalized. The studio urged fans to remain patient while they focus on ongoing projects, particularly the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta, the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3.
