Jets’n’Guns 2 coming to PS5, PS4 on August 25

My official Starfield background is chef, but for the last 30 hours, I've become a full-time gun collector. I've racked up a respectable arsenal of very cool guns, some favorites being a six-shooter with sharp angles that look straight out of a Deus Ex game and a heavy rifle where the reticle is a grid of ominous laser pointers. Even though I'm only using a handful regularly, I keep picking them up because they're all so different, with distinct looks, sounds, and involved reload animations that the FPS enjoyer in my is gobbling up. Bethesda has really upped their game since Fallout 4.

Roblox Corporation will release Roblox for Quest later in September, followed by PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in October, the company announced.

With Starfield being as big as it is, there are a lot of things to shoot — and a whole lot of things to shoot with.

With August out of the way, we find ourselves nearing the business end of the year when it comes to game releases. Thankfully, for PlayStation 5 and PS4 owners, there's plenty to be excited about over the next couple of months.

I never spent much time with Contra growing up, so I thought of it as a game about one-to-two burly gunmen doing elaborate somersault routines as they run sideways and shoot the kinds of faceless bad guys that other Rambo types tend to shoot at. Maybe the difficulty was a little too impenetrable—the Konami code exists for a reason, after all. Point is: I was surprised to learn that it turns into a body horror nightmare where our beefcake heroes end up in a labyrinth of mutated, alien flesh. Where Contra burns a little more slowly on the flesh terror, upcoming spiritual successor Iron Meat isn't wasting any time. It's flesh all the way down. Iron Meat takes place in an apocalyptic future where mad scientists on the moon have unleashed an «iron-ravenous mass» called «The Meat» that's devouring everything it touches. Or mutates everything it touches? I'm not sure where the line is between the two. Whatever The Meat is doing, it's grody. In just one trailer, you can see that The Meat's made flesh guys with sword arms, fleshy trains with gaping maws, fleshy attack choppers with dangling eye stalks, and more.

The long-awaited “Skyrim in space,” Starfield, is out today after many years in development over at Bethesda. It’s ambitious and lavishly produced, but despite its size it lacks the sense of wonder and vastness that its pastoral predecessor epitomized.

Armored Core 6 is not an easy game: I was stuck for a couple hours on a boss late in the campaign while writing my review, and since release I've seen posts from more than a few players going on tilt after dying again and again to chapter 1 boss Balteus. In every tough boss fight, I found myself back in the assembly menu tweaking parts of my mech, swapping out weapons and AC frame parts until I found the right build for the challenge in front of me. On the absolute opposite end of the spectrum there's YouTuber ZeroLenny, who decided to toss all that customization aside and beat the entire game without using a single weapon.

Ahsoka’s premiere introduced live-action audiences to Sabine Wren, and revealed that she was once Ahsoka’s padawan. And while Ahsoka may be the title character, the Mandalorian warrior is the breakout from the first two episodes. Along with a brief lightsaber battle and some clever puzzle-solving, we also saw that Sabine’s a bit of a daredevil on speeder bike. But in a new clip premiering exclusively here on Polygon, we see that in episode 3, she’ll be getting a bit of an upgrade in the vehicle department.

Though Focus Entertainment dropped some new gameplay for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 at Gamescom 2023, there’s more to come. The publisher confirmed extended gameplay presentations for the upcoming hack-and-slash third-person shooter and DON’T NOD’s Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden on August 30th at 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT.

Satirical delivery sim Parcel Corps may not be scheduled to arrive until 2024, but it’s once again brought the goods with this traversal trailer. While the clip doesn’t reveal too much new, it does showcase how you’ll be able to use your bicycle to navigate its dystopian cel-shaded city, grinding on rails and wall-riding to reach your destination.

Alien Hominid HD will be coming to most modern platforms, developer The Behemoth has announced.

Publisher Skybound Games and developer Mighty Yell will release adventure game The Big Con for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Store on August 31.
