Hazelight Studios, Josef Fares' development team responsible for It Takes Two and A Way Out, is teasing its next project. As the studio turns 10 years old, it's promising a look back at its history, but promises we'll be seeing what comes next sometime later this year.
The team shared the tease in a post on social media:
It tells us the team has something «real good» brewing in the background, and that it'll make an appearance in 2024. With summer showcases on the approach, we suppose it could show up at Summer Game Fest or something along those lines, though that's obviously just speculation on our part. It'll also be interesting to see whether Hazelight signs on with EA Originals once again, or if it'll go a different route for its next game.
Whatever happens, we expect the co-op specialists will make an impression with another novel way to get a pair of players working together. Are you excited for Hazelight's next game? Discuss in the comments section below.
Stephen has been part of the Push Square team for over six years, bringing boundless enthusiasm and a deep knowledge of video games to his role as Assistant Editor. Having grown up playing every PlayStation console to date, he's developed an eclectic taste, with particular passion for indie games, arcade racers, and puzzlers. He's also our go-to guy for Sonic-related matters, much to his delight/chagrin.
Really looking forward to whatever Fares has cooking. I managed to convince the missus to couch co-op It Takes Two with me and it is and will remain one of my favourite gaming memories. We did A Way Out too, which while nowhere near as good, was still an enjoyable couple of afternoons. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
The wife and I would be happy just getting straight sequel.
It takes two is one of my favourite games, I replay it once a year with my son and we swap roles each time. I still play with a massive goofy grin on my face, fourth replay coming up closer to Christmas so hopefully will know by then what they’re doing next. Also planning a replay of a way out soon too as it’s been a few years since we played that.
My son and I will very much be looking forward to the announcement. They don’t have enough co-op games that aren’t party games on PS5.
Gonna hop on the “wife and I” train. It was such a fun game to play together and one of only a handful we have managed to complete before getting bored.
I’m always interested in anything we can play together that’s going to hold our attention and not cause blazing rows….Im looking at you overcooked
My wife doesnt play games.
I have never felt more disconnected from the majority than seeing It Takes Two win GOTY. An awful dull videogame full of annoying characters in my opinion.
I think Brothers

Whether exploring the irradiated monuments of Washington D.C. in Fallout 3 or gambling away your last couple of Caps on The Strip in Fallout: New Vegas, the series' North American setting is an essential piece of the puzzle. And while players have previously been given tantalising glimpses of how the rest of Bethesda's bleak world might be faring, studio head Todd Howard says the plan is to keep the series set in the US.

Twitter user pl_evil has helpfully translated a recent letter to shareholders from Bloober Team, showing that their new game "Project C" will be revealed later this year. This will be the studio's next original game, after they wrapped up Layers Of Fear last year with, confusingly, Layers Of Fear (the natural progression for a series: Layers Of Fear, Layers Of Fear 2, and then Layers Of Fear again, although it was going to be called Layers Of Fears at one point).
