According to one rumor, there is a chance that the latest iPhone 15 lineup exhibits the same problem, with a tipster saying that the newest models feature cheaper batteries that only have about 600 charge cycles.
Batteries that have a 500-600 charge cycle endurance are used in high-performance products ranging from powerbanks, vacuum cleaners, and other handheld products that support up to a 100W power delivery, according to RGcloudS. The tipster further states that since the iPhone 15 family cannot be classified as a high-performance product range as it does not support 100W of wattage, using batteries with only 600 charge cycles means that Apple wanted to cut down manufacturing costs to keep the pricing unchanged this year.
In case you did not know, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the only model this year to be $100 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it also comes with twice the storage for the base version, along with a multitude of upgrades. RGcloudS says that Chinese brands that are a part of the BBK Group, such as OPPO, Vivo, and others, use batteries with up to 800 charge cycles, with OnePlus incorporating the more advanced self-healing cells with 1,600 charge cycles, though it is likely that this component costs more than the parts used by others.

However, where Apple is rumored to be cutting down costs by using cheaper batteries, other brands make compromises in the display and by using lower-end chips. Apple may be cutting costs in this area because it has established a widespread and reliable supply chain and retail network that allows batteries to be replaced for a small fee. As far as battery replacements go, no other company has been able to deliver the same service as Apple, so consumers who have to rely on purchasing third-party batteries for non-Apple devices also proceed with unreliable service procedures that might not always go in their favor.
