Ascendant Studios unveiled a new cinematic for Immortals of Aveum before its San Diego Comic-Con panel, showcasing a tense confrontation between protagonist Jak and General Kirkan. However, the studio also revealed that Michael Kirkbride, known for writing the lore of The Elder Scrolls series (including Morrowind andOblivion), is involved in the narrative.
Kirkbride has also worked on titles like Telltale’s The Walking Dead and Batman: Enemy Within. In a new post, Ascendant Studio revealed he joined “very early on” to “shape the world of Aveum, its characters, kingdoms and dialogue to bring its narrative foundation to life.”
Some other story details are also revealed, like how Jak was an Unforeseen, born without magic, before manifesting it in a tragic event. Kirkan finds and takes him in, acting as a mentor and believing his potential can aid in the Everwar. While she’s fond of Jak, Kirkan is known for being ruthless and an “uncompromising warhawk.”
As for Zendara, she’s royalty from the kingdom of Kalthus, which Sandrakk conquered and is the Immortals’ second-in-command. Then there’s Devyn, who seems somewhat uppity, but quickly becomes best friends with Jak. Even the villain Sandrakk is interesting since he feels he’s doing the right thing. Kirkbride notes, “He has a very good reason to have increased his attacks on Lucium, and the more you get to know him, the more you might wonder how much of his motivation is justified.”
Immortals of Aveum is out on August 22nd for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.

Oh, and possibly, dear. If you were hyped up after all those rumours about a Red Dead Redemption remake then you are going to be disappointed as although the game has been announced it is for Switch and PS4 only. This is not a remake, this is not a 60fps 4K version for modern consoles, this is the old game but running on new consoles. Well, a ten year old console in the case of the PS4.

After one Hasbro rep suggested that Activision Blizzard had lost the hard drives that held the code for the well-loved Transformers games it published, Hasbro's PR is now saying that statement was made in error.
Hasbro wants to put its older Transformers video games on Xbox Game Pass but says it can't because Activision doesn't know where it's stored them.
Fandom threw a big party to kick off San Diego Comic-Con this year.
Hasbro thinks it's time for Activision Blizzard's Transformers games to come to Xbox Game Pass. At a recent Q&A with Transformer World 2005 at San Diego Comic-Con earlier in July, a spokesperson for the toy company was asked about older games in the series being re-released for newer consoles.
Hasbro's flying high at the moment, and is looking to get serious about Transformers and videogames. There have been multiple Transformers games in the past, of course, but these were somewhat isolated licensed titles rather than a part of any grander strategy. Now Hasbro's got a big title on the way next year from Splash Damage, has begun to sell a Gamer Edition line of toys (where the bots look like their designs in certain videogames), and as part of the latter has noticed that these games are incredibly hard to play.
Bandai Namco has issued a stark warning to Tekken 8 players, insisting they do not continue to play the recently-released closed network test.
Hasbro was on hand to talk about toys on the latest San Diego Comic Con. However, they opened up quite a bit when they were asked about making more video games.
