Humble Games is making layoffs

Since Rockstar Games was established as a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive in December 1998, the studio has released several acclaimed titles, most notably the and series. Despite this, the company has worked on several titles that have gone on to be either officially canceled or simply never completed.

The Resident Evil franchise is a massive one. We’ve seen this franchise thrive over the decades now. With the first game launching on the original PlayStation, Capcom has continued producing mainline installments and a series of spinoffs. However, it wasn’t too long ago that the development team at Capcom opted to bring remakes into the marketplace. Fans have taken up with these remakes, and it’s allowed Capcom to bring out three of them to date. But if you were uncertain if this trend would continue or not, a Capcom developer opted to reveal remakes are not going away anytime soon.

Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer release date is finally upon us, as confirmed by Rockstar Games via a tweet. The first footage from the highly-anticipated crime odyssey sequel will be out on Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30pm IST in India/ 9am ET in the US, with the publisher only posting an image of a sunset and palm tree silhouettes — confirming previous claims that it's set in a fictionalised version of Miami, which franchise veterans might recognise as a return to Vice City. With that, it is clear that Geoff Keighley won't be presenting the trailer at The Game Awards 2023, though a teaser or some screenshot drops are always possible.

With the amount of hype surrounding Rockstar Games titles, particularly, now is the perfect time for the company to present its own showcase. Other major companies started having their own showcases, such as PlayStation's State of Plays, Nintendo's Nintendo Directs, and the Xbox & Bethesda joint showcases of recent years, the latter of which was used to provide an in-depth look at in June 2023.

Rockstar has removed the Social Club branding from its website, presumably in anticipation of GTA 6. As per the news account @videotechuk_ on Twitter, the publisher has replaced the nomenclature with simply ‘Rockstar Games' and scrapped any references to ‘Social Club members.' The online gaming service is also missing the old logo now, though players can still engage in multiplayer elements and accrue member-exclusive rewards from games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. For now, it's unclear whether Rockstar would launch a new platform or simply update the existing application to usher in the new era, but traces of the branding still remain in-game.

Developer Hexworks has released more free content for its recently-released action RPG Lords of the Fallen. The update, titled The Way of the Bucket, focuses on some of the characters from Lords of the Fallen that have gotten popular with the game’s community.

Developers at Palia studio Singularity Six were still celebrating a successful early access launch when a surprising announcement was made: The company was laying off around 10% of its workers. Though the game is a cozy life simulator, layoffs were something that was “not so cozy,” as a Singularity Six leader had said in a previous meeting, according to two workers.

Developer Hexworks has released a new major update for its Souls-styled action RPG Lords of the Fallen. The update brings a host of changes to the game, including tweaks to how some of its bsos fights work, as well as general updates to improve the performance of the game.
