You won’t find Rock Band Unplugged at the top of many Best PSP Games lists, but the Harmonix spin-off – released during the peak of plastic peripheral popularity – was one of the finest games you could find on Sony’s handheld during its pre-PS Vita renaissance circa-2009. A stripped-back version of the main console games, this portable reimagining saw you switching between instruments, completing “phrases” by rhythmically tapping buttons in time to the music.

THQ Nordic is setting out to recapture the haunting and inquisitive gameplay of the 1992 game. The 2024 remake staring David Harbour and Jodie Comer has even gained the admiration and approval of the series creator, Frédérick Raynal, an excellent sign for survival horror fans.

Survival horror game Alone in the Dark has been delayed for a second time, to help developer Pieces Interactive avoid having to crunch on the game over the Christmas period.

We reported earlier in the year that Netflix had big-brain ideas for the oft-overlooked gaming arm of its business, and here’s the bombshell: the streaming subscription will add all three entries from Rockstar’s remastered GTA Trilogy on 14th December. While not strictly PlayStation news in the purest sense, this is a potentially disruptive announcement for sure.
