Helldivers 2’s first patch since the PSN login debacle is out now, making some much-needed fixes to the game.
17.04.2024 - 11:39 / gamingbolt.com / Sony
A new patch is live in Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2, and as promised, it fixes the passive for the CE-27 Ground Breaker armor. It will now provide the Engineer perk, which grants your character two additional grenades and reduces recoil when crouching or prone.
The rest of the patch focuses on stability, fixing crashes in the loadout screen when other players join or leave or when the mission results and rewards are displayed following extraction. Crashes that occurred when too many civilians spawned, when deploying to a mission and even when a host’s play session migrates to another player have also been addressed.
Interestingly, an issue that caused different damage to enemies for PC and console players is also fixed. The development team is looking into other bugs like the Superior Packing Methodology module not working, player names showing up blank on friend lists, and only the host’s damage over time effects applying, so stay tuned for further updates.
Helldivers 2 is available for PS5 and PC. Check out the latest Premium Warbond, Democratic Detonation, here.

Helldivers 2’s first patch since the PSN login debacle is out now, making some much-needed fixes to the game.
Following the news that Sony no longer plans to move forward with its controversial Helldivers 2 PlayStation Network account-linking update, reviews are skyrocketing in a positive direction. The Helldivers 2 community has been up in arms over the recently announced update, which would have forced players to create and connect to a PlayStation Network account in order to access the game. Massive backlash ensued, with Helldivers 2 being review-bombed on Steam. This decision was ultimately reversed, with reviews immediately shooting up as a result.
Amid the turmoil of the recent Helldivers 2 controversy, its predecessor Helldivers has also been review bombed by disappointed fans. The original's latest negative reviews criticize the account-linking requirement of Helldivers 2, which was eventually retracted by publisher Sony.
Helldivers 2 players have found massive tunnels on Terminid planets after the latest patch. Helldivers 2, a cooperative third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, has gotten a lot of attention for its intense gameplay and ongoing updates. Set in a dystopian future, players battle against alien forces across various planets, facing formidable enemies like Bile Titans, Hive Lords, and plenty more.
Helldivers 2 has brought more success for Sony and developer Arrowhead Game Studios than they could ever have imagined, and a large portion of that success has come through the co-op shooter’s sizeable audience on PC. Soon, however, Sony will be implementing a new requirement on that audience in order to be able to play the game.
Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Studios has addressed recent community uproar concerning changes to the game's ricochet mechanics. Following the 01.000.300 patch for Helldivers 2, players reported an increased frequency of deaths caused by ricocheting projectiles, even from explosives like rockets.
Helldivers 2's Stalker enemies have reportedly gained a mutation with the game's latest update, which allows them to cloak their bodies entirely and sneak up on players. Helldivers 2 released an update several days ago, making numerous balance changes that could shake up the meta. It brought nerfs to some weapons, including the JAR-5 Dominator and the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher. In addition, the update buffed Automaton enemies, such as Scout Striders and Devastators, slightly increasing their fire rate and durability.
While Dragon’s Dogma 2 topped US software charts for March 2024 per Circana’s Matt Piscatella, Helldivers 2 wasn’t far behind. It ranked in second place and is still the best-selling premium title of the year to date. Furthermore, it’s the seventh best-selling title (in terms of lifetime dollar sales) published by Sony, despite only being on sale for two months.
Some Helldivers 2 players are unhappy with the bullet ricochet changes implemented with Update 01.000.300. Patch days have always been somewhat contentious within the Helldivers 2 community, often because of the introduced balance changes included with the patch along with the wave of bug reports that follow in the wake of every update. Its latest patch was, unfortunately, no exception to the established pattern, and many players have since flocked to social media to call for a quick fix to what appears to be a problem with the game's ricochet mechanic.
The latest Helldivers 2 leak shows a plasma pistol that will reportedly be available in the future. Over the past months, Helldivers 2 players have been treated to leaks that revealed details about the upcoming content. Recently, one provided a sneak peek into new Illuminate enemies, while another showed a new off-road vehicle that Arrowhead could add to its over-the-shoulder game in the future.
Out of nowhere, Arrowhead Game Studios has released an extensive balance patch for Helldivers 2. While it reduces burning damage by 15 percent and reduces headshot damage on those with armor ratings above 100, it offers many changes to existing weapons and Stratagems.
A creative Helldivers 2 player has produced a cool concept that would massively improve the game's Exosuit Mech Stratagem. The Exosuit Mechs in Helldivers 2 haven't fully lived up to their early promise, but with these changes, would be a force to be reckoned with in the Galactic War against the Terminids and Automatons.
