Helldivers 2 has likely sold over 8m, it’s claimed, ‘well ahead of expectations’

With today's launch of Season of Discovery Phase 3, the Wowhead team has been hard at work discovering the locations of many new Runes and updating our guides! If I've learned one thing covering Steam games over the past decade or so, it's that people love porn. If I've learned two things, the other is that people love games featuring Dwarves. Deep Rock Galactic has had players singing 'rock and stone' for years, and its Vampire Survivors-style spinoff has been no less popular. Just over a month after the start of Early Access, the Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor devs have unleashed a host of stats detailing how players have been getting along so far.

Despite the controversy surrounding Tekken 8’s recent addition of the cash shop and Battle Pass, Bandai Namco’s sequel has done well. Before its launch, producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed that the series had sold over 55 million copies on the Game Maker’s Notebook Podcast.

According to developer and publisher Capcom, the recent open-world role-playing game (RPG) Dragon’s Dogma 2 has managed to surpass 2.5 million units sold worldwide since its March 22 launch.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s post-launch addition of microtransactions vexed a fair few people, but in spite of backlash from the community, the open world action RPG has got off to an impressive start. In addition to widespread acclaim, it has also seen sales in impressive numbers right out the gate.

The next title in the Mana series from Square Enix, Visions of Mana, is out this Summer. As the first mainline title in over 15 years, it offers vibrant visuals, a real-time combat system with new mechanics, and over 100 tracks. Various previews and details are available, including a new gameplay trailer, but the publisher also revealed sales numbers for the series.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League hasn't been enjoying much success since launch, with Warner Bors. having practically branded the game a failure and the majority of the game's fanbase having dropped off due to unpopular story choices and generally unsatisfying gameplay. Season 1 of the game's promised post-launch content was a chance to turn those fortunes around though, but Rocksteady has allowed that chance to slip through its fingers in pretty dramatic fashion.

With Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist available for PC via Steam Early Access, Binary Haze Interactive also announced in a press release that Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights has sold over 1.4 million copies. Its last milestone was selling over one million copies as of February 2023.

Players interested in purchasing a physical copy of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for the Nintendo Switch need to act fast, as the game is already sold out at some retailers. After Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door crowned Amazon's best-seller list, surpassing games like Dragon's Dogma 2, its physical editions have sold out on the online retailer, and those looking to buy the latest RPG remake will have to wait for restocking or look elsewhere.

Ravendawn will be getting a major PvP update that the Tavernlight Games devs are calling like a “mini expansion”. There’s also a new update coming to address market oversupply issues from land rules.

While most Helldivers 2 players are busy fending off the Terminids and Automatons, some believe they have seen evidence that a third faction called the Illuminate are on their way.

Helldivers 2 has sold over 8 million copies.
