HDR10+ GAMING Debuts with The First Descendant Next Month

Stranger Things breakout star Joseph Quinn’s new movie Hoard has earned some rave early reviews at the Venice Film Festival. The directorial debut of Luna Carmoon is a coming-of-age story, beginning in the mid-1980s with a young girl called Maria and her mother (Hayley Squires), who spends her time hoarding rubbish.

Fate/Samurai Remnant is the latest action RPG developed by Omega Force, and it's the latest title in the Warriors series the company is known for. Type-Moon played a supervisory role in the creation of the game, while Koei Tecmo handled development. While I was surprised to hear that the two companies would be working together, it became crystal clear to me once I actually got my hands on the game that it really is the latest Fate title, showing plenty of the interactions and bonds depicted through free-for-all battles that make the series so appealing.

Remember ol' Slender Man? The dapper, faceless, tall drink of water that more than likely inspired your nightmares a decade ago? The company uses multiple layers of glass to diffuse light to the point that TCL says the display is reflection-free. A matte finish also means that the screen is resistant to fingerprints and smudges. Colors adjust to your surroundings thanks to an integrated sensor and you can even flip on a black-and-white mode to mimic traditional ereaders. The company also says that these displays reduce blue light, which has been known to negatively affect sleep.

The First Descendant is busy ramping up hype for its open beta — which is dropping on the 19th September — and so we're being treated to a new 4K gameplay trailer. You can catch glimpses of different playable characters, their loadouts, and their unique abilities, as well as huge boss enemies that'll require teamwork to bring down efficiently.

Nexon had a busy Opening Night Live today, dropping trailers for a few of their upcoming games. The First Descendant, the multiplayer looter shooter RPG, got a trailer ahead of next month's beta, while Warhaven saw a trailer highlighting its September 21st release.
