Google's Pixel Watch 2 looks like a promising update to last year's excellent Pixel Watch. It's entering the market alongside another recent big-name wearable, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, which we awarded an excellent four-star rating to in August. We're in the process of testing the new Pixel Watch now, but let's see how the two smartwatches compare when it comes to design, features, price, and more.
Both watches have smooth, circular designs, though the edges of the Pixel Watch 2 are more curved compared with the starker, flatter Galaxy Watch 6. The Pixel 2 only comes in one size (41 millimeters in diameter by 12.3 millimeters thick) while the Samsung watch comes in large (43.6 by 9mm) and small (39.6 by 9mm) versions. None of the watches will feel particularly heavy on your wrist, though, with the Pixel Watch 2 weighing 31 grams and the Galaxy Watch 6 weighing 28.7 to 33.3 grams. That's less than 1.2 ounces.
The bigger design difference between the two watches is in the physical controls. Samsung only provides two buttons on the right side of the Galaxy Watch 6 and otherwise relies entirely on swiping for scrolling. If you want a component that rotates for flipping through options, you'll need to upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic with its rotating bezel, or get the Pixel Watch 2 which has a rotating crown. This is mostly a matter of taste, though, and we haven't had much of a problem with simply swiping.
Both watches have always-on AMOLED screens that promise excellent contrast and color, but Google lags a bit in size, brightness, and sharpness. The Pixel Watch 2's 1.2-inch display shows 320 pixels per inch and can put out up to 1,000 nits, and those numbers are hardly anything to sneeze at. But the Galaxy Watch 6's screens take a step up in size and sharpness at 1.31 inches and 330ppi for the small model and 1.47 inches and 327ppi for the large model. It takes an even bigger leap in brightness, with a peak light output of 2,000 nits.
Google promises longer battery life than the original Pixel Watch with 24 hours of use with the always-on display enabled, and it can get a full charge in just 75 minutes. We'll have to test that ourselves, but if accurate it means the Pixel Watch 2 can last a full two hours longer than the Galaxy Watch 6 in the real world. Nearly a full day between charges is great, but both watches at their best are well behind the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (57 hours with the always-on display, in testing) and the standard Galaxy Watch 5 (30 hours, tested).
Samsung moved away from its own Tizen-powered smartwatch platform a few years ago for Wear OS, which means both the Pixel Watch 2 and the Galaxy Watch 6 use Google's operating system. This means they have similar interfaces and app

Disney and developer Dlala Studios announced Disney Illusion Island in 2022, and it immediately shot up high on my list of games to play this year. It did so for several reasons – its beautifully realized visuals, top-notch voice acting, and, of course, the potential to play as some of my favorite characters in a Metroidvania-esque adventure. That wasn't all, though; The snippets of composer David Housden's score in the reveal trailer indicated this team was on to something.
In an unexpected twist, Google has removed the restrictions it had allegedly placed on the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices. Now, users can freely install popular benchmarking apps like Geekbench and 3D Mark. This move, which initially baffled tech enthusiasts, was implemented during the review embargo period for the Pixel 8 series phones prior to their official release. The peculiar decision hindered them from conducting comprehensive tests on Google's claims about the Tensor G3 chip powering the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices, unless they were well-versed in manually sideloading the apps.

Just finding time to play through the best Steam Next Fest demos, let alone all the promising ones that appeal to me specifically, is a tough task. I've had to get pretty aggressive about my selection process this week. If a demo's screenshots and tags don't grab me immediately, it's not getting a download, and if the first five minutes don't feel right, it's getting uninstalled. Life, like Steam Next Fest, is too short. And I was this close to passing on Noreya: The Gold Project, a 2D pixel art Metroidvania from developer Dreamirl, not because it didn't look good, but because I still haven't gotten to demos for some of the event's most popular games. But I'm glad I gave it a shot. The demo is a little rough technically, but I see huge potential in this distinctly post-Hollow Knight game.
This is a camera upgrade. Full stop. If photos and video aren’t your primary concerns when it comes to buying a new smartphone, there’s virtually no reason to upgrade from the Pixel 7 Pro to the Pixel 8 Pro (check Darrell’s review to see if the same is true for the Pixel 8). The Pixel 8 Pro isn’t a bad phone; it’s more that Google has found itself in the same spot as the rest of the industry.

Using a Cleric Multiclass in is an excellent way of optimizing your character’s potential as a divine damage dealer or a team supporter. Multiclassing is a feature available in Larian Studio’s popular turn-based RPG that essentially allows you to undertake two distinct classes and level them up with a single character. Doing so will open up your list of potential skills, thus giving you completely different approaches to the game. Using some of the best Multiclass combinations allows you to expand your character’s range of abilities, making them a more skilled healer or perhaps a more versatile DPS.
