OpenAI is improving its generative AI chatbot for a few months now and has introduced new features like keyboard shortcuts, longer login duration, etc. to provide its users with enhanced personalized responses and overall experience. This week sees a stone-cold classic of the RTS genre coming to Epic Games Store for free in the shape of Homeworld Remastered Collection. It’s going to be available for this unbelievable price starting from this coming Thursday, the 27th of July until the 2nd of August.

Homeworld Remastered Multiplayer Beta (The beta features crossplay between Steam and Epic Game Store so players can join their friends wherever they play Homeworld)

Now, there’s got to be some reason for launching the game for free beyond the generosity of Epic’s heart, and that has to be the forthcoming release of Homeworld 3, which is all set to appear on a PC near you in February 2024. Stefan was lucky enough to go hands-on with an early version of the game last year as well as catch up with Game Director Lance Mueller who said, “There’s a certain tone with Homeworld in general and we want to stay within that, especially coming up with the story, we’re trying to think of how to be fresh, but it’s also a video game and you can’t have everything at the beginning. So we have to think of inventive ways of getting to that power escalation that RTS’ always have.”
The Homeworld games have been re-mastered with the help of key members of the original development team as well as taking suggestions and assistance from the passionate fan community. The Homeworld Remastered Collection introduces Relic Entertainment’s acclaimed space strategy games Homeworld and Homeworld 2 to modern players and operating systems using the newest sophisticated graphics rendering technology, plus a fully remastered score and new, high-fidelity voice recordings by the original actors.
As a free bonus, the collection also includes original, non-remastered versions of Homeworld Classic and Homeworld 2 Classic, preserving the purest form of the original releases with compatibility for modern operating systems.
