Genesis/Mega Drive games are being added to Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection

This week, the Swedish group Jumpgate AB announced that it had secured licensing to develop a PC/console game based on Paramount's Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager IPs. The development will be conducted at gameXcite, a wholly-owned subsidiary based in Hamburg, Germany.

The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive received three games from the Valis series. Thus far, I’ve covered Valis, a port of a remake, and Syd of Valis, a bizarre chibi version of Valis II. However, I while I find them somewhat charming, I don’t love them. However, what I’ve been told, both in the comments and on other publications, is that Valis III is where the series actually got good.

Starting on September 26, viewers can stream the highly-anticipated three-part documentary series, The Fake Sheikh. This documentary series will be set in 2016 and will focus on the criminal case of Mazher Mahmood, a maverick British journalist who made headlines by his use of the alias “The Fake Sheikh” and other false aliases to trap and ensnare royals, sports stars, politicians, celebrities, and members of the public eye in order to achieve fame, only for him to get charged and imprisoned for 15 months. This documentary will star Ayla Fox, Paul Samrai, and Neil Wallis.

Sony has continued to aggressively expand its efforts in the live service space in recent years, and with the likes of Concord and Fairgame$, the company has also started to reveal some of the live service titles it currently has in the pipeline. And while some have been concerned that that will mean reduced emphasis on the narrative-driven experiences that PlayStation first party has become synonymous with, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan has said that that is not the case.

The Sega Genesis didn’t technically get Valis II. Instead, it got the remake of the first Valis and Valis III. However, between these two games was a title that remained exclusive to the platform, and that was the bizarrely named Syd of Valis. The Japanese title makes more sense. It’s SD Valis, named such because it uses a “super deformed” anime art style, which might be better known in the West as “Chibi.”
