Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery launches October 26 for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

Nightdive Studios launched its ground-up remake of the original System Shock for PC earlier this year, with console versions still in the works, though the developer also has a remaster of System Shock 2 in the works that it announced back in 2019. It has, of course, been a while since we last got an official update on it, though recently at the Indie Horror Showcase, Nightdive premiered a new trailer for System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition.

Nightdive Studios has released a new gameplay trailer for System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, its remastered version of the 1999 classic science-fiction horror action RPG, as well as confirmed it will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in addition to its previously announced PC version. It was previously only teased as coming to “next-generation consoles.” A release date was not announced. Users who purchased the System Shock remake on Steam or GOG will receive System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for free.

Life simulation game Coral Island will leave Early Access and launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on November 14, publisher Humble Games and developer Stairway Games announced. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.

In a recent development, Kinetic Games has decided to postpone the release of the highly anticipated cooperative psychological horror game, Phasmophobia, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Initially slated for release in October, the game’s launch has been pushed to an unannounced date due to unforeseen challenges.

A demo is available now for PC via Steam until October 16, which acts as a prologue introducing players to the beginning of protagonist Wiktor Szulski’s story.

Exploration adventure game Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure will leave Early Access and launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on November 9, followed by Switch at a later date for $24.99 / £20.99. The game can also be enjoyed for free with someone who already owns the game via the “Friends’ Pass.”

Kalypso Media has announced a new title in the Commandos series – Commandos: Origins. Developed by Claymore Game Studios, it launches in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store while also available on day one for Game Pass.

October is here and the month brings a non-stop train of game releases. It is perhaps the busiest month in gaming this year, with major titles fighting for space in the tight window of four weeks. Kicking off things on October 5 is Assassin's Creed Mirage, Ubisoft's next chapter in the long-running assassin's saga. This time, the game opts to shrink its scope and return to its roots with a more stealth and assassinations-based approach. The last three AC titles had adhered to a Witcher 3-style expansive RPG style, drawing criticism for open-world bloat.

Publishers PID Games and META Publishing, and developer 1 Million Bits Horde will release life sandbox simulation RPG Spirit of the Island for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on October 19, the companies announced.
